The Shep is the perfect place for your private events! Our family celebrated our son's first birthday party here, as we needed a place that could well accommodate 77 people. I can't do enough about the flexibility in designing your personalized menu, the kindness of staff, the ability to decorate the entire restaurant to your theme, and the general satisfaction in the meals and drinks of the day. Before the event, the owner was extremely helpful in selecting shell sizes for the number of people we had participated in the event. This sports bar is fantastic, serving excellent food. Despite being busy, Barry and Melissa were attentive and friendly. The menu includes massive pretzels with mustard and cheese sauce, fresh French fries, burgers, spring rolls, and more. The prices are reasonable considering the generous portions. It can get loud due to the multiple TVs playing sports games. This is not a place for takeout or delivery, as most complaints stem from that. It's best to dine in for hot, fresh food. Overall, it's a fun place and perfect for hosting a party with family. See the quarter next to the pretzel for size reference.
The Shep!! This place is such a fantastic establishment and everything you could want when it comes to a sports bar in Hoboken. Solid bar food, pretty affordable drinks, tons of beer choices, plenty of TVs, and weekly live music and trivia. Great place to watch NFL football too. The Shep also has some pretty awesome people working there. Gary and Anthony are two of my favorite people, always make me smile, and are top notch servers/bartenders. We discovered this restaurant before heading to Trader Joe's down the street. The service was excellent, and they have a large variety of beers available. The food was delicious - I enjoyed the fish tacos and my friend liked her tuna salad. There are multiple TVs to watch sports games, and when we were there, they were showing college football. It seems like a great spot to watch a game while enjoying food and drinks.
Great service, delicious food and drinks, and friendly staff. I left my wallet at the bar and the bouncer kindly returned it to me. This small gesture speaks volumes about the people who work here.
