The refurb looks nice but that's as good as it gets sadly! Fur coat and no knickers comes to mind. Firstly, we arrived we our dog as we always did prior to the refurb. As we made our way to choose a table overlooking the lake we were approached and told we couldn't sit there with a dog, and the only place we could sit were at a cramped area of a few tables hidden behind the bar! No view, and too cramped an area to try and sit everyone with dogs whilst the rest of the place had lots of tables available! So we instead decided to sit outside the front under the heated canopy. We ordered a pizza and scampi. The pizza was inedible, it was barely cooked, the base was light in colour and barely hea...
Need to update the name as is now Quayside. Venue itself is fine and had a couple of pints of a local ale which was very nice. Ordering is simple enough done at the bar and we ordered starters and mains. Very impressed at how quickly the starters arrived and all enjoyed what we had (four different choices . We then waited for our mains.... And waited... Waited some more..... You get the gist! In the end, after seeing others served and no sign of our food we had to chase the staff and then it miraculously appeared, so makes you wonder whether it was just sat on the side going cold (although it wasn't! . Maybe we made the wrong choices, but for the two of us who had burgers we did not expect t...
We went to the restaurant for dinner today and ordered pizza, pie, scampi, and a soup and sandwich. The pizza was topped with a great selection of meats and was cooked in a stone oven. The pie came with a variety of vegetables and was very flavorful. The soup and sandwich were a great value for the price. The scampi was perfectly crispy, just how I like it. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.
'The Ship is dead, long live the Quayside! ' Our first visit after a massive refurb and we were impressed. There was definitely a very different vibe but it was good to see a mix of customers including families, couples, friends etc. The bar looks so inviting but it might be good to have a sign if you 'd prefer people to queue. It was busy and staff were working so hard and mostly still smiling. It was a lovely evening with Bailey Moore singing to top it off.

The best meal I've had in a long time. The lamb was delicious melted in your mouth and such a big portion. My partner had fish and chips and said it was the best he's had. Kids meals were good sized portions too and they loved them. The atmosphere was good lovely views of the boats on the water and the toilets very clean. Staff friendly. Very happy. Sad I was too full to choose a pudding.
What a wonderful restaurant, we were welcome and guided to out table by Ian, I was assuming that is the Manager. Very polite staff and attentive, excelente food and beautiful view of the lake. We liked so much that we came back at night, we went to other places but service wasn’t as good. Thanks Ian for the amazing experience.
Been here quite a few times over the years. Always quite busy. Dog friendly area at the front of the bar as you walk in, which is nice. Reasonable prices. Do a good coffee as well as food and drink. Service is good and never had any problems. One note, you need a code to get to the toilet which inst a massive issue.
Some of the worst service and obnoxious, unpleasant bar staff it has ever been my misfortune to be served by. Heaven fore-fend you might order a coffee at the bar when first entering the premises, and not know the table number at which you might sit.

This restaurant has a beautiful view of Lake Windermere. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, the decor was nice, and the background music was good. I would definitely come back again.
