Highlights: Booked the Christmas Lunch menu for 8 people, Pre Ordered. Arrived and no Christmas Lunch was available. Ordered from the Sunday Lunch menu instead. Waited ages for the food, which did not come out at the same time. Quality of the food was actually good but it 's not an experience I wish to repeat. Complained numerous times. No idea who was responsible probably never find out. 5 weeks ago I made a phone booking for 8 people for the Christmas Lunch menu. I visited in person 3 weeks ago with a Pre Order of our food choices and provided written confirmation of the booking (and paid a £10 per head deposit . Having seen on Facebook that there was a new menu we thought we’d give it a try First two pumps turned round and then two men returned their beer and the third pump turned. Not good for a Saturday lunch time with a party expected and tonight a Halloween experience I had the ‘new’ antipasto board. surely you can’t go wrong with this…you can if the humus is totally tasteless and served with jacobs cream crackers!!! I did mention this to the server saying I hoped it was constructive criticism. Overall I feel that maybe there isn’t a chef on duty but someone who prepared food. So very pleased that our friends whom we had invited to join us couldn’t make it.
Absolutely brilliant Lovely staff made to feel very welcome. 4 paws friendly Teddy the dog was welcomed as much as I was. A few gins (nice selection) and lunch Food was excellent with generous portions (I could not finish mine) the pie is lovely with a good pastry and generous filling, battered cod looked brilliant, they clearly take pride in the food served. Teddy was well catered for with a drink of water offered and not an eyelid battered when I ordered a portion of cooked chicken for him and even a napkin for his chops. His chicken was cut ready for him and complete with the skin, his empty bowl spoke volumes Will definitely return
Saturday evening out with friends for a few drinks something to eat. Fairly busy lively bar with a excellent selection of beers wine. Service was excellent, Molly behind the bar was excellent. Food service was good and a varied menu with plenty of choices. The sharing nachos to start were awesome, good portion with plenty of toppings. 2 of us had the ribs that fell off the bone with plenty of chips salad. Girls had a mix of sharing starters which they enjoyed. Really nice evening. Réservez une table maintenant
Went here for lunch today that turned out to be dinner due to time waiting, Then requested a refund as could not wait for supper !!!! staff said would be a 45 minute wait that turned out to be over 2.5hrs shocking. Kept being told that our roast was out next I know it was welsh lamb but did not realise we was waiting for the lamb to arrive from its native country.
A great location with excellent views of the river. The bar was under staffed with only one person serving and hence queues to order drinks or food on a Friday lunch time. The food was OK and whilst they got the order wrong (is it really that difficult? I would rate it as satisfactory. Such a shame. Perhaps try The Pier next time.
