The food was exquisite, earning a perfect score for its flavor and presentation. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the evening. The ambiance was equally impressive, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhanced our meal. Overall, a fantastic choice for dinner!
We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing lunch today! We arrived before opening after our dog walk and we were welcomed with a warm, polite service and offered a drink before the kitchen opened. We enjoyed the fish and chips as well as the pie of the day which was delicious! The pudding menu looked scrumptious, we were too full to try, though we will definitely return to try the eton mess and banoffee pie! Maybe even the lemon meringue pie Highly recommend after a long walk around Bourne Woods!
The restaurant is in dire need of an update and modernization—just take a look at the carpet in the conservatory. I ordered a "large Dover sole" at a premium price, but it was disappointingly small, more like a lemon sole. This was a letdown, especially since I remembered it being great years ago. Overall, I would rate the food a 1, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 1.
I love this place! very cozy furnishings, amazing staff and eating was simply brilliant. on this evening they had as a special escape with dauphiniose kartoffels and it was just great! for one dessert I had eton mess, which was once again absolutely delightful! definitely want back and maybe try their pizzas! love the pizzas here! the staff is always very friendly and helpful. the children's play area is fabulous and they just fixed a few bits that had small damage! such a beautiful building and an environment. many outside spaces for children and adults. new pergola looks amazing!
