I wanted to treat my best friend to afternoon tea for her birthday, but I made the mistake of not making a reservation anywhere. It was a Wednesday, so I didn't think it would be necessary, but after calling several places in Suffolk, I was starting to lose hope. They all required at least 24 hours notice, some even 48 hours, and it seemed like my friend's birthday didn't matter. Then I remembered a coffee shop that my niece had taken me to before, where the owner had been very accommodating. I decided to give them a call, even though they preferred 24 hours notice. The young man on the phone said he would check with his boss, especially since it was just the two of us. Less than an hour lat...

We arrived early for breakfast, just a few customers sitting in the garden and 30 degree heat. We ordered 2 full english breakfasts and 3 drinks our bill was just under £32. Our hot and cold drinks were delivered to the outside table but we were told by 3 different staff that we could not have a glass for our bottled fruit juice as they had limited glasses on site and these were reserved for milkshakes and they were busy! We were offered a paper cup and straw as an alternative how old did they think we were! A basic slice of cheap brown toast arrived (though granary was on the menu), followed some minutes later by 1 breakfast, then the 2nd. breakfast came later …. A small and poor quality po...

Myself, wife and daughter had breakfast here today. Lovely setting and friendly staff. We eat out regularly. Unfortunately the breakfast we had at the Stables was very poor, and expensive for the quality of the ingredients used. My wife and daughter had bacon baps,it was served in a cheap white bap which was so wet and soggy that it broke up when eating. The bacon was also cold. My scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and mushrooms was also cold and the mushrooms were cooked in old oil. The toast was also soggy and uneatable ,and for the price I do not expect powdered eggs. Probably one of the worst breakfast experiences we have had. Will not be going back.

We love this cafe on so many levels. It’s a very peaceful setting, with a duck pond amongst the outdoor space, which adds an extra layer of calmness. The owner is so friendly and her team are a credit to her, so polite and welcoming. And finally the food, on this particular visit we had breakfast and chose the French toast with bacon and maple syrup…what can I say, I can’t wait to have it again, just so tasty! And finally the cakes, all home baked and absolutely scrumptious. If you are looking for a new cafe to visit, you can’t go wrong with this little gem…tell your friends, the owner deserves lots of success! Thanks again for going a great job! Wonderful location with a duck pond and outdoor seating, very friendly, but colourful staff ! The food was basic but expensive. The salad garnish consisted of half a cherry tomato and three tiny wilted lettuce leaves. The bread for sandwiches and the filling were of poor quality and the coffee was £3.50, when the usual is £2.50. Overpriced tiny pieces of cake, so we abstained. Such a shame as we would have gone back if the quality was better. Clean cafe with clean toilets.

The food was really good quality, however when the afternoon tea arrived it was nothing like my order I had requested. I was asked if I was happy, I couldn’t be honest at the time and say how disappointed we was as it would have spoilt my brothers 70th birthday. Hence followed it up with an email to be told the owner hadn’t made a note of my requirements and have a good weekend!! Not quite the response for £72!

The staff at this restaurant are very welcoming and the environment is spotless. However, the portions are very small and quite expensive. I was not satisfied with the small cup of coffee priced at £3.75, the tiny bagel for £8.50, and the very small slice of veg frittata with a small salad for £12.50. I don't plan on returning. It's a shame because it's a nice little café located off the A12.

Altogether a most attractive place to linger for a while on a sunny day. Shade from trees if that's what you need. Inside looked fine too. Nice coffee and from what I could see on my neighbours' plates, good food too. Just enough traffic on the nearby road to be interesting (many tractors) without being intrusive. Overpriced and poor quality How can you charge £4.50 for plain toast with butter? I don't mind paying over the odds for quality food but this wasn't! Cheapest, thinnest, bread going and only 2 little pats of butter. Same applied to the coffee and the tea. Poor, cheap quality No wonder the place was empty.
