My wife booked our overnight stay for the 5 men of the family after being at Silverstone for qualifying on Saturday and to return for the race Sunday. 45 minutes from Silverstone which is perfect as we live 2 hours away. Set in amazing countryside we arrived to a beautiful old building of a pub with a warm welcome from the staff. Our rooms were nice and clean with comfortable beds. The evening meal was very good especially after eating rubbish all day at Silverstone. The steak and ale pie is a winner and dessert was just as good. Breakfast was excellent with great coffee and set us up a treat for race day. Had a nice chat with the owner Rob before breakfast which considering how busy he is h...

We had booked for 7.15 and eventually got our food at 8.10 due to a large birthday party and the staff apologised profusely and that was really no problem to us just had a good chat with our friends. I ordered the sirloin steak on the rare side of medium rare and it was slightly overdone but was very nice and tasty. My only complaint would be the cost of the accompanying condiments £3.85 for pepper sauce and there was no gravy on the plate makes the problem in the press regarding Rick Stein charging £2 for gravy pale into real insignificance. I did not see the price before I ordered it my own fault, but as I said it was a nice meal and I would recommend the pub to anyone but just avoid the e...

Pre pandemic our group of friends would meet at the Stag for Sunday lunch. We decided to do so again, after three years of Zoom meetings, especially as two of our friends were driving up from Somerset and we hadn't seem them in person for 30 years! Trying to organise a group of nine isn't easy, but Rob at the pub was very patient and accommodating as we emailed back and forth. We were seated in a quiet part of the pub (away from the Women's World Cup match). The food was very good and the girl who served us was efficient and friendly. We all chatted non stop apart from eating for four hours. It was great fun and we will go back to the Stag again. Would highly recommend.

I have been to this restaurant many times and it always seems to be busy, which is a good sign. I booked a table for lunch at 12:45. The restaurant bar was not too crowded. They had a good selection of beers and soft drinks available. There was a bit of a wait after ordering, but it was definitely worth it. The portions were very generous and the Fish and Chips and vegetarian roast were top quality. It seems to be popular with the local farming community as the car park was full of Range Rovers. I will definitely visit again. Réservez une table maintenant

Stayed for one night bed and breakfast and had a evening meal and was very well welcomed by Rob and his staff. Meals were very good and all staff will go out of their way to help you. It is not the Ritz and the prices reflect this, and the owner is doing his very best in these challenging times. Two tips, you may find you can not book in until 5.00pm and in this hot weather take a fan to help sleeping! Nice to go somewhere from here and have a large car park to come back too and have a pint!

This charming old country inn is well-decorated, despite the narrow steps leading up to the restaurant. There is a large carpark on the side, as well as some parking spaces in front of the inn. The initial reception was a bit indifferent, as we were offered drinks before being shown to our table. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and well-presented, with a varied menu selection available. The prices were very reasonable.

We have visited this restaurant multiple times and the food is consistently delicious. This time was no exception - the food was excellent. The fish pie was exceptional and the gammon steak was also very tasty. It's unfortunate that the restaurant was not more crowded. The prices for wine are fair and the restaurant is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Kettering. Réservez une table maintenant

This is possibly the worst pub I have had the misfortune in entering. Rude, unwelcoming staff, unpleasant experience. Would have complained in person but we were pretty much ushered out as the pub quiz was a 'sold out event '. Surprising really, given the quality of service, that anything in this place could be sold out? People skills maybe need to be encouraged.
