Pretty disappointed with our first visit to the Star Inn. Heard good reports, particularly regarding the food. We had a curry, liver and onions, and oriental salmon. The first two were average, but the glaze/sauce with the salmon tasted awful and was left uneaten on the plate.. Too much soy/fish sauce in the mix? Clearly, it was not tasted before serving. Well, it 's oriental was the response from staff after we expressed our dislike. Right. And the dining room was decorated for Haloween. Dark, gloomy and completely unwelcoming. Sorry, but we will look elsewhere next time. Price per person: £10–20
great food, great choice and good value. opportunity to pay less and have a smaller part. tonight we had both made home quiche with hot new kartoffels, salat and koleslaw followed by chocolate oreo sundae and summerberry meringue. delicious. we ate in the dining room where no music played, a big plus as far as we are concerned. very nice staff too.
Worst meal ever,cold food ,then gravy pot smashed all over the floor.
