Took some out of state family here for a meal tonight. On entering, the restaurant I could not hear the waitress due to the excessive noise coming from the public bar. Asked to be seated as far away from the noise as possible but we struggled to hold a conversation. Table service was very good. Meals looked great. My gripe is I ordered a rib fillet. I no matter where I go order a rib fillet, so I know the cut very well. My steak was meant to be medium, it was more well done, but I struggled with it anyhow, as it was a very long wait for the meals to be served. Firstl, my order was Atlantic Salmon with risoni and salad greens. 5 snow pea sprouts is not a salad. The risoni was tasty and had a nice citrusy sauce but the salmon was so overcooked it was difficult to eat. Dry and hard, not tender and heated through in the middle so it remains undercooked. I think the skin n the salmon was crispy but you wouldn't have known because it was smothered in some sauce which was awful. My partner has ordered a medium rare steak and seafood from the "chef's special board". Visited Sunday evening (also Valentines) arrived around 6:20 and the large restaurant only had a hand full of tables occupied - that should have been the sign not to stay. The restaurant is pleasant and has the potential to be great but no. I just wanted a steak.Staff were fairly prompt.Ordered some cheese and Bacon bread but the mains arrived and not a sign of the bread - so we cancelled that.Pork Knuckle looked great but was very dry and really below parRib Fillet - so I have cooked way better steak that I have picked up at Aldi. We went to the Colmslie for a Friday night meal. Started off by having our entree taken. The waitress rolled her eyes at us and had a horrible attitude from the get go. I ordered the $39 reef and beef. I ordered my steak rare and it turned up medium to well. I wouldn't normally complain but i did due to the price. It came back SO rare that my steak was freezing cold in the middle. I am not usually over the top picky but it was ridiculous. My partner told me not to eat it as he was worried i would get sick because it was so cold. Our waitress name was ZITA and i will NOT ever be coming back due to how RUDE she was to our table. Felt absolutely uncomfortable and like we were not wanted there.

Have eaten here a number of times and has always been a nice meal. Good selection on the menu something for most tastes. Steak and also seafood is most popular on the menu and the entrees are tasty as well. They do desert but haven't been able to fit that in yet. Bit pricey for some of the meals especially being a pub but seems to be the way alot of Hotels are going now. Staff friendly and helpful and room is clean and not squashy. Nice for a family outing. We have been to the restaurant at the Colmslie Hotel a number of times and have always had wonderful meals. They offer a variety of meals which are very tasty and filling. If you wish to compliment the chef you ask the waiter/waitress to ring the bell to show your appreciation.
We were a large group and the kitchen served all our food up steaming hot and exact to the order at the same time - no one sitting waiting at all. Large comfortable dining area where you can get away from everyone else if you like.
We had the Roast of the day special, which for $10 is very good value. Spacious dining area and prompt bar service make this a good place for a casual meal.

We visit the Colmslie about one a week and usually receive wonderful service. the food is normally well cooked and well presented.
