First visit here, thought we would try it out for early evening meal. Roast Chicken Dinner was very impressive and Fish Chips were very tasty. We had two young lady’s seeing to our table. One had shown us to the table whom was okay, polite however the other young lady lacked customer service altogether. Didn’t smile once and the tone of her voice was full of attitude. Felt like we were being rushed, like she couldn’t wait for us to finish so they could pack up and close. We understand their last seating was 6pm on a Sunday but we were out just after 7pm so very quick but in terms of service, not good at all.
Ordered a starter which was okay but the main course of fish and chips was awful. Totally overcooked and I couldn 't eat it but was still charged for it. Maybe they were having an off day because the table next to us complained about their desserts and they didn 't get charged for them. I won 't return there based on todays visit, very poor quality food considering the price they charge. I felt it lacked atmosphere in there too and was a bit cold in there (another complaint raised by other customers whilst we were there).
It has been many years since we last ate at The Talbot (20 in fact! ; we were not disappointed on our return! The environment, service, and quality of the food we were served was all of a high standard, which probably explains why, on a cold mid-week January night the restaurant was probably around 80% full during early evening. We had a delightful lunch yesterday with a group of four. The menu had a great selection of small plates, tapas, and sandwiches, all of which were fresh and delicious. The staff, especially Sophia, were very friendly and helpful. The environment was very comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting near the open fire. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to return in the future.

The dining experience at this restaurant is always enjoyable. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed, with lovely waitstaff and a cozy fire going. The food is truly excellent, especially the pork belly which is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The tapas style starters are also interesting and delicious. I highly recommend dining here.
Great place for drinks or dinner. We had excellent service from both Kez and Frankie, very attentive and friendly. Food was good, huge portions and came quickly even though every table was occupied. Nice bustling atmosphere.
Excellent meal as always. Quality of the food is always outstanding and they have diverse choices on the menu to other places in the area. Great beer! First class customer service.
I had a wonderful evening at The Talbot last night. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and I couldn't find any faults. The service was also excellent.

Excellent lunch on New Year’s Day. Great tasty selection, efficient and friendly service, a perfect lunch in a beautiful setting. Wide selection to suit all tastes.
Excellent Sunday lunch, service was very good and a great atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit and we definitely return.
