I like the atmosphere (spacious, variety of seating choices, not loud) at The Open Tap Brew Pub and Eatery. Our family went for lunch. Note : minors are allowed until eight in the evening. It was quite busy probably because it was Friday. Our orders...were taken promptly but we had to wait for our food. No big deal because we weren't in a rush. We received good portions for all four meals. Glasses were mostly full of ice. I prefer more drink and less ice. We ordered Meat Loaf Sandwich, Red Coat Burger, Chicken Caesar Wrap and Greek Wrap. The place looks so clean and bright with the new furnishings and seating arrangement. The liquor store is also worth a visit (reasonable prices, stocked with a great variety of items, including a walk-in beer cooler). Our five orders were very good - two orders of taco salad (huge) $16; two Long Beach Club sandwiches (delicious with the blackened chicken) $15.50; burger (bacon hanging over the sides) $15.50. I had the lagers for my side - served in a container that looked like a mini deep fryer basket. Lagers were thickly sliced. Lagers are not seasoned but are served with a dip. I ate at The Tap this past weekend while working in Regina. The establishment is connected to the Tap Liquor Store where you can walk between the two businesses without leaving the building. Although the menu is primarily appetizers, wraps, burgers, etc., the food is...very good. The largest full meal they had to choose from was either the steak sandwich or the fish and chips I had the steak sandwich. Jayden was my server; she was very friendly and she is a good server. The bar and restaurant was on the quiet side when I was in there (Sunday), but I'm guessing it would be much busier on a Friday and Saturday night. Went here for lunch one day and the restaurant is very nice inside since it has been recently remodeled. Kids are allowed at The Tap until 8:00pm which is great for families with kids. The waitress was very nice and when we asked for a full plate of nachos she told us the half order would be enough and she was right which saved us some money. The only problem with service was that our waitress ended up behind the bar making drinks, so we had to wait a while to get our bill. The liquor store is accessible from inside the restaurant and the drive thru is a great idea for people who know what they want and don't want to go inside. The Tap has been a landmark in North Regina for 14 years and has recently gone through a major renovation. The expanded off sale is appealing to "North-enders" and people who travel to the lake or Craven. The inside is simplified yet looks functional. The deck has seen a bit of a face lift and still sports the warm west side sun. The menu however escaped any changes and could have used an overhaul. Went for lunch on a Friday and there seemed to be a lack of staff to accommodate the people. The lunch took a long time to come (really, a salad, one burger and some pizza bones - not all that complicated). When the food did arrive, it was obviously sitting for some time.
We ordered from here and when we got order we didnt get half of what we ordered! And there was also a hair in my sandwich that was black and as long as a beard hair and I am a female so it was not...my hair. And worse part about it the chicken was not edible in my sandwich it was so burnt. My family and I did not enjoy our meals. I would not choose to go there again! I do not recommend!!
Oustanding food. Fried pickles awesome. Nachos excellent. We came for Singo it was a blast. Andrew and Travis did an awesome job to entertain us. We are from Vancouver but when we come back we will for sure check it out. Melissa our waitress was...amazing. This is a must place to go to if you stop here.
The renovations are really nice here and the staff is friendly. We came to watch the game and requested the sound for the big screen TV was on, rather than the awful music. Was advised no. Words of wisdom... if you want to watch the game, don't come here and stay away from the "gravy". Good food. Réservez une table maintenant
A definite must try is their brew on tap because some of them are very seasonal.Always ask your server what they have on tap and give it a try... Also a great find is their burgers and pizza... Servers are friendly and very nice which is the bonus... we will definitely come back...
