While we genuinely wish this restaurant success, we regret to say that we won't be returning or recommending it. As former restaurant owners, we arrived with high expectations upon seeing "Chef" in the name. Unfortunately, the service was slow, despite our server being courteous; it took nearly an hour to receive two regular meals and a few kids' burger meals. The French fries were frozen, the fried chicken lacked flavor, and the pasta was bland and unseasoned. The kids' burgers were served on hard French bread, and the cold salad was placed on a hot plate alongside hot dishes. In our opinion, nothing stood out or inspired us to return. For a price between $10 and $20 per person, the food was exceptional, earning a perfect five stars. The highlight of my meal was the OMG Burger, which I highly recommend. What an exceptional restaurant! We discovered The Taste through a TV show (Discover Oklahoma) and are so pleased we decided to give it a try. We both ordered the fried catfish along with fries, okra, and lemon meringue pie. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I can honestly say the catfish was the best I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was enjoyable as well, featuring a spacious dining area with great music. Plus, the prices were very reasonable! We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return, especially since it's conveniently located halfway between DFW and OKC. Five stars!!!
The food was fantastic! We decided to stop in based on Yelp reviews, and it turned out to be the best choice. Chef Rodney was incredibly kind and even chatted with our son. The servers were excellent too. My son had the gumbo and loved it; I enjoyed a delicious burger, and the lemon pie was superb—especially the meringue. First time there everything was great, but thought the meat loaf was a bit too dry. Needed something to moisten it up a little. We use a recipe at home that adds diced zucchini to the mixture. It adds a nice, moist taste and flavor, and always gets rave reviews from our family and friends . Otherwise, we loved the experience and will definitely come back and try them again! We were passing through on a road trip read the reviews on Yelp. We always try to eat a local establishment when we can. The decor is great, the employees friendly the grilled chicken sandwich was so good. The bun tasted freshly made. He had the club sandwich enjoyed it. If you want to taste great food, prepared just for you, this is the place.
my husband and I were told about the taste and had to try. the experience was great. the friendly faces, the amazing eating and the excellent dessert could not have met any better choice. best place and best chief in marietta ok. they have to pass! thank you rodney and denise.
