Family and special friends attended our mother's wake held at this lovely pub. We visited the pub to enquire about holding the wake there and the staff were kind, supportive and welcoming. We had a lovely homecooked lunch in the pub whilst we made our plans. We were made aware that the wifi signal is not good at the pub, but that didn't affect us at all. On the day we were able to run a photo slide show and have pics of mum up. The buffet was lovely, catering for guests who were vegetarian and vegan. There is plenty of parking too. Never been to this pub,and live local! Pleasant surprise,staff young and efficient,ice cold Guinness served.Best feature is large garden with lots of tables (undercover a lot,great for our weather),dogs welcome and lots of shrubs, plants etc.Bar area is small,but this expected due to age of pub.Food served ,but yet to try.Sunday carvery is available.Worth popping in especially if you visit Riverside Country Park or walk along river trail.
10 of us decided on a last minute Sunday lunch out, and so glad we found that this place had to wait for a table, but amazed with 10 of us that they managed to fit us at all! eating was excellent as the coworkers great worth for money can highly recommend this pub best Sunday roast I had .ever! will definitely pay another visit x
Myself and 17 family members celebrated my husbands birthday here on Sunday. The Mariners was welcoming and 'homely '. Our meal was lovely and we didn 't have to wait long for it. The Landlords went out of their way to make the occasion a success .........We 'll be back!!

A nice friendly pub with a good atmosphere and the food looks nice but yet have to try it..have only visited this pub a handful of times in over 25 years and I'm definitely going to go there more often as my wife loved it too and it's very dog friendly
Nothing bad to say about here, a warm welcome and Poppy the dog to make you feel right at home. Ideal venue for a party, they laid on a lovely buffet. We have eaten a festive pre-Christmas dinner a couple of times before and was very enjoyable..
Went here yesterday to eat but didn’t realise we were meant to book as they get so busy. They made us feel so welcome and served us the most delicious food. Definitely going back again. Thank you so much
