I had wanted to try out this gastropub for some time and spend a few squid on some top notch food. Well it does not disappoint ! Its clearly popular and busy, the ambiance of the place is very inviting, comfortable and the many staff...very attentive and helpful. We had some calamari and garlic bread to start with and share, the garlic bread was amazing and reminiscent of the garlic butter found in french escargots, rich and delicious. The calamari was served with some lovely tartare sauce and hit the spot. Followed the fish of the day and sea vegetables. Flaky cod cooked to perfection, tons of flavours yet subtle and balanced. The famous fish and chips was beautiful and executed perfectly....
We’ve ate here a good few times now and what can I say? Wow, it is entirely faultless. We rate every dish we have had here a solid Every time we’ve been, we have stuffed the full three courses as it is just that...good. I can’t recommend anything in particular because it’s all incredible. The staff are so friendly and attentive, really going out of their way to make sure you are having a good meal. I’ve never seen the owners but they seem to look after their staff I noticed they had given staff working Sunday a roast dinner for free which was nice to see. I visited the Tickled Trout as a surprise meal for my birthday and am pleased to say it was a great surprise. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the space is nicely decorated. I like that there’s an area for a larger group upstairs ..as they were being very noisy that would have been a bit much if they were downstairs in the same room as us. We both had starters spicy chicken wings and halloumi sticks. Both yummy. For mains we had a burger and a gluten free pizza there are number of gluten free options on a dedicated menu, and the staff are really well informed. The gluten free base of the pizza was very good. All in all would definitely recommend and would visit again.
We visited the restaurant today..First time. The service team were very well accommodating. We ordered a chicken dish for mains and as the chicken is cooked from fresh it takes about mins to cook. Although we had to wait ...when all the food was...served for all the guests ..omg it was so nice and well worth the wait we all loved our dishes. We ordered pil pil prawns, cod, and a beef dish..each dish was full of flavour. Amazing food. We will defo be back again.. very soon. All have to be mindful that the food is cooked fresh so waiting time is longer than other restaurants...but its well worth it!!! xxx

Ate here prior to covid and it was amazing. My husband booked his work Christmas party in the private room the weekend before Christmas this year when restrictions eased and it was STUNNING.. people and the food was mind blowing. The staff were so...attentive and friendly too. We all loved it that much he has re booked this year for his company’s Christmas do. We also came as a couple at the end Jan and couldn’t fault a single thing, perfect service and amazing food! Keep doing what you are doing as you are smashing it and I recommend to anyone wanting a night out.
Myself, my daughter,her friend and her young daughter went for lunch. A dreadful wet and windy Saturday but oh what a treat. The service was excellent, lovely friendly staff and a superb surrounding. The food was by far the best I have eaten this year....Two of us had blade of beef, succulent and juicy and the other had christmas pizza, turkey, brussels, parsnips and cranberries. What a treat. Highly recommend people give it a try.
Have driven past here no end of times and today we popped in.. from the warm and friendly welcome by the lovely staff to the bright and clean space and all topped off with some of the tastiest food I've eaten out in a long...time! I shall no longer drive past .. I'll be a regular here wouldn't be enough .. brilliant thankyou x
Celebrated my Birthday in the private dining room with family and friends. Everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. Food and service were spot on. Highly recommend. Thank you

Our meal was good, the trout in particular, was excellent. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and attentive, but not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in a nice atmosphere.
