I visited this restaurant last night with friends and have been here several times before. Firstly the good stuff: The staff are lovely. They are warm and friendly. They were clearly very busy but were always polite and helpful. The restaurant is very inviting with great parking, nice decor and a lovely open fire. The atmosphere was just right. My starter was lovely mackerel pate and lovely bread. We also enjoyed our desserts, a lovely tart fruit crumble and custard. However, we found the main course pretty disappointing to be honest.Two of us had the prawn skewer and it was a tiny main course. Can not fault the travellers rest. We’ve had some very bad experiences from 2019-2022. We tried it again before they closed for refurbed and it was such a pleasure to see some of the old team have made a come back. Visited on Tuesday evening for the first time since they reopened and wow. It’s beautiful inside, menu has has a revamp too. Staff extermely welcoming and friendly. Very knowledgeable and all seemed to be enjoying their jobs. Food was delicious. Now we are looking forward to becoming regulars back at our old favourite place to meet family and friends. Good work travellers rest keep it up.
The Manager Lisa and Staff member Theo were absolutely amazing with me and my son. My son is 6 and has autism and they both welcomed us with a huge smile and excellent customer service both going above and beyond. Really friendly and even took time to talk to us both. I cannot recommend this pub enough. Food is lovely and overall great atmosphere. I highly recommend them to all family and friends and they are never disappointed. Thank you Lisa and Theo for always making our weekly visits to your pub such a lovely experience
We each chose the signature burger with extra bacon. Which we matched with a nice bottle of South African Merlot, which went down very well. An easy drinker for sure. The puddings were good. My sticky toffee pudding with custard was good. Coffees were standard machine made fare. Parking was easy and there were ample on a Monday night. And as usual, it was muddy paw friendly with the mildly disruptive force of nature that was our Beagle.

First time coming, went on a recommendation from a friend. Nice looking venue, plenty of parking. Nice choice of food on the menu and they also offer a set menu. I went for the set menu which keeps things simple but to be honest, doesn’t really save you much money, so next time I will just order exactly what I fancy. Nice warm open fire place for the W.
What a lovely little find beautiful little pub, plenty of parking. Friendly bar staff, good selection of beer and ciders. Food was really good. I had the duo of lamb ... omg! So so nice and value for money I thought at £25 : will definitely be stopping in if I'm that way again!
Great food and fantastic service from theo the food was amazing. Great location I can't wait to come back again. The sticky sharing platter was a treat. And the Sunday trio was very tasty Great gravy. And the trifle was rillant.
Lovely food, staff and atmosphere. Had family dinner as our little one was getting hungry. Staff were very accommodating given we were walk ins. Great service would happily visit again.
