I was quite excited discovering this place on the web prior to a visit to Braintree as I love Vegan food, independent cafes etc...and reading these reviews bolstered my anticipation. But when I arrived it turned out that it’s a very small operation, very much an add on, side hussle to the shop. They didn’t have the menu items that I’d been seeking (and the guy there was not very helpful about suggesting similar alternatives) and the dining area was more of an alcove off the shop which seemed a bit claustrophobic and as there was noone in there (it was about 1pm on a Weds afternoon) and I was there solo it wasn’t really appealing to eat there alone. My friend and I popped into The Vegan Way Cafe this weekend as we had worked up an appetite from charity shopping! This cafe is so peaceful and cosy, we could have sat there all day.We each had a BBQ jackfruit wrap which was delicious, I also has a peanut butter (oat)milkshake which was so yummy! The staff were so very kind and made sure we were enjoying our lunch and this place really did have a good vibe. There were lots of vegan options so we were in heaven! I regret not trying any of the cake but I guess it's just an excuse to come back!Would recommend this cafe, even if you aren't vegan!
Love this place, they have regular options on the menu and hot dishes that change so you get to try different things all the time. So many gluten free options and everything is vegan which is amazing. The best thing, if you have something you like, they have a shop and you can buy the ingredients to make it yourself!!! They can do takeaways too and they use all compostable packaging which is a really nice touch. The staff are really nice and helpful, it’s a lovely cozy atmosphere. My little boy loves their chocolate cake and my daughter the cappuccino. Happy days
Popped on for a cup of coffee and ended up having lunch. A delicious sweet potato and coconut curry served with a homemade scone. The coffee was organic and specially blended for the cafe. Very smooth. I bought two of the vegan sausage rolls to take home. Forget Greggs these are truly amazing. Homemade and absolutely wonderful. My only regret is that I didn’t buy more!

If you ever find yourself in Braintree, Essex I can highly recommend the Vegan Way cafe.Popped in there today for the first time with my friend. Had coconut lentil soup and an oat latte, they had lots of yummy looking cakes, a piece of which I bought for later Lovely friendly atmosphere, will definitely visit here again next time I’m in Braintree
Only stopped in briefly on my lunch break. Ordered a burger and a sausage roll because I craved Friday junk food! It did not disappoint and it only took 10 mins. There's also tonnes of refrigerated vegan food, so I will be back for sure.
An excellent find in Braintree High St. Superb vegan dishes at an excellent price in a lovely cafe attached to a great health food shop. Knowledgable and friendly staff complete a great experience. Well worth a try.
The food was delicious, staff were lovely, sweet little café with great vegan options. It's so nice having more than one option I can choose on the menu let alone being able to choose anything.

Stopped for lunch while shopping here, such a lovely little cafe with friendly staff. We had the best vegan burger! I will definitely be back to try some of the cakes :
