My friends and I visited The Vic Social for the first time last weekend. We all love the 80s and were intrigued with the unique theme of this restaurant. We also heard the food was delicious from several other friends so we had to venture out to see what the fuss was about. Though it was a busy Friday night the waitress went out of her way to make sure we didn’t have to wait too long. The music was pretty phenomenal that night and you get sense everyone was really enjoying themselves. After being referred to the Vic Social by two different locals for their delicious food and upbeat atmosphere, my friend and I decided to give it a try on our mini-weekday vacay. The thoughtful menu, food quality and taste surpassed our expectations. The burger was done and dressed to perfection and no adult should think these chicken fingers are just for kids. They’re definitely a cut above the rest, tasting like real and fresh chicken! The service was friendly and our server knowledgeable when we asked questions about the menu items. We came here for dinner on a girls trip weekend. The restaurant has lots of seating space on their outdoor patio which I think is somewhat of a rare find in Picton. The server was super friendly and sat us and served us quickly! Drinks were good we got Caesar’s ciders and they were awesome. I do think the Caesar’s were doubles though because they were $14 which is pretty pricey for a Caesar, but they weren’t on the menu were made really good so we appreciated it nonetheless! Food was amazing! Chicken tenders, Caesar salad, Vic burger deep friend pickles were all really good! Truffle fries are AMAZING. Hands down the coolest and most fun place in town! All the staff were kind and very attentive when we walked in even though they were busy. There’s different games that friends, family, couples or kids can play while waiting for the food or even during!I had the Caesar salad (which I’m so picky about) and have to say this was one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Incredible salad and presentation too! The Vic Burger lived up to the name! The owner Gary was there as well, super nice guy he took time to make sure we were happy and even chatted with us for a little. Highly recommend, we will be going back for sure!
Firstly, I would like to mention that all the staff we encountered were very friendly and nice, so kudos to them! However, The Vic Social is incorrectly advertised on Trip Advisor as offering vegan options. While technically accurate, the only options available are tater tots and toast. Even if you request the toast without butter, they still use butter. Because of this, I do not plan on returning. My husband ordered eggs Benedict. He said they were "alright" and comparable to other restaurants, but nothing extraordinary.
I am disappointed that this restaurant claims to have "vegan" options when my wife and I visited for breakfast, the only options available were potatoes and toast. Despite requesting the toast without butter, it still came slathered on. The staff were friendly, but it seems their claim of being accommodating to vegans is not true.
Very cozy place with friendly wait staff. Food wasn’t bad. Poutine was too salty. Brussel sprouts are amazing must try! They offer a boardgame menu to keep you entertained while you wait for food. The outdoor heater was a nice touch for their enclosed patio. Réservez une table maintenant
