I’m currently staying a few days in Devon. I was checking out Okehampton town centre, discovered The Victorian Pantry by the Museum of Dartmoor Life and decided to pop in to get some food. It’s a lovely and quaint place (in the sweetest way possible! and the owner was very warm and friendly. The food was great quality and value. I got myself an extra slice of coffee and walnut cake for the evening at my hotel, because it was really tasty! A really nice experience on my travels.

We had a trip out to Okehampton and were pleased to see that this little gem of a cafe was open. It’s right by the Dartmoor Museum (also worth a visit) and does wonderful traditional home cooked meals on hot plates! Our breakfast did not disappoint with a butchers sausage, thick bacon, fresh mushrooms and sautéed potatoes included. All freshly cooked and delicious. Dogs are welcome there unlike that place up the road! Jayne and Bill

Tucked away very close to the Dartmoor Life Museum mrs foodie located this little gem. We noticed a fair few locals who were obviously repeat visitors which is always a good sign. Whilst main meals and hot snacks are available i struggle to not choose a cream tea. Well pleased that i did. Proper jam and cream , lovely homeade scones and a cracking cup of tea. Now which goes first in Devon the jam or the cream....

Delicious Clotted Cream Tea. It was great to endulge in a traditional clotted cream tea. Fantastic portions, moist and light scones, a nice supply of clotted cream and fresh strawberry preserve. Great service, friendly and helpful staff. Nothing has changed since my last visit in March 2017. Always a pleasure to revisit.
