First, please note that my review is for The Village Chief, NOT for Mama's Boy BBQ. Most of the reviews here as of the time of my review are for the old restaurant, not this current restaurant. As such, the star ratings primarily reflects the old restaurant.I was a fan of Mama's Boys food... and while disappointed that they were gone, I was excited to welcome The Village Chief and their West African Soul Food. My honest review... I'm a first time customer and have been wanting to try this place out for the longest. I wasn't met with a greeting upon entering the business, a guy just walked to the front and we stood there with a awkward silence for a few seconds. I gave him my name and he proceeded to bag my order with no gloves. When I got home and opened my containers my fries were cold, and I noticed the portions are small. I ordered a slab of ribs only to get home and find out I got a slab of Baby back ribs. Honestly the food was not bad tasting at all, and if it were not for the lack of customer service, and being served cold hard fries this place has a unique menu with great potential. Quality...

I most definitely enjoyed the food at the village cheif restaurant, reminds me very much of home. Rice and ofada sauce was on point, Poundo and egusi soup was off the hook. Great Job guys

The owner is amazing and accommodates all of his customers with friendly service and great Nigerian cuisine?? For sure to return to his establishment.

Its great to have in the neighborhood and its easy to find. In general the food is not bad.
