Went threre with my wife last night and was disappointed with the service and food we really wanted to like it since it was our first date in months. Firstly, we were disappointed to find out from the waiter that asides from their oysters and whole crabs, none of the seafood were local (including the lump crab meat nor from the bay. I had their oysters and it lacked the sea brine flavor that you would expect. My wife said the peel shrimps were just okay. The service was frustrating. Waiter never checked on our food once it came out (never once by the waiter who was hardly seen despite that the floor was new empty . We asked one of the servers for a bowl for the shells, which never came out....
Hadn 't been here for years, so decided to visit again. We were not impressed and don 't plan to return. Friendly hostess seated us in the club/bar area. Our server didn 't mention the specials, we overheard another server (also the bartender) providing the information to a nearby table. Of course this was after we placed our orders and the server was nowhere to be found. I had a small candied walnut salad which was a pile of spinach with a few crumbles of cheese and a hint of walnut chips. Spouse had the surf and turf burger which he described as just okay. Served with a smidgen of cole slaw and potato chips. Server did not offer refill of drinks. We also had the crab bisque, which was okay...
We went to the River Shack at the Wellwood, a summer staple for us. The fried chicken is delicious! Moist on the inside, crispy on the outside and tasty all over! Crushes are good. Tacos were pretty good, street corn was okay. We love to come by boat, dock at the wellwood and walk down the road to the shack to out our feet in the sand. Dog friendly and had an outside sink as well as outside bathrooms. Staff are all friendly and on the ball. Our server, Mary, was a delight!
It was our first time here and we were craving some good Maryland Seafood. This restaurant had excellent food and service. Our waitress was pleasant and had an exceptional method of keeping all our checks separate since we were a large group. Thank you Kendall for your service and hospitality. We had the oysters Rockefeller, crab bisque, shrimp tacos, crab cake platter and wolffish with crab imperial. Réservez une table maintenant
