Arrived in the area late afternoon for a week's holiday. The accommodation Guest Information book suggested The Westbury Inn. We had driven a fair distance so wanted something local. Warm welcome and attentive staff, the pub is a typical old English country pub. We tried two of the dishes on offer, Haddock and chips and Duck. All the food we had was well cooked and extremely enjoyable. My only slight negative might be that it is reasonably expensive but definitely a very pleasant place.

Wow! Today we had the best pub lunch we have had in ages at The Westbury Inn, (we try to treat ourselves to a pub lunch every Friday at a dog friendly pub). The whole menu was fabulous so we were spoiled for choice but we decided on the 3 courses for £22.50 menu was exceptionally good, and excellent value. Can't recomend this place highly enough as the atmosphere, service, decor, food and welcome were all superb, so a really big thank-you to the team today who really nailed it.

We were dodging a cycle race and found this delightful road side pub. The menus included simple bar menu, tapas, more substantial options and then a specials board that included tomohawk steaks and confit duck! It was lunch time so we only chose the bar menu, but the food was freshly cooked real chips {I watched a young man struggle in with a bag of spuds) and an excellent salad. A little gem not to be overlooked.

All sites said it was open. Door unlocked. Went in to be greeted by a load of Spaniels and not open! Given some abuse about being tourists. Its us that keeps you going. I'm part of a pub review in the South West. Good luck for your future....

Really lovely dinner here. Some of the best garlic mushrooms, a fabulous game pie (with knock out chips, very fresh and I'm sure homemade), locely rum baked banana. Very friendly atmosphere, looking forward to coming back

Really disappointing the pub is either not open or you feel they want to close up early. In these difficult times most people are trying to survive and earn money where they can but obviously doesn't apply in this case

Good extensive lunch menu, including several roast dinners to choose from. Roast beef with yorkshires the rest, very nice. Could have maybe had a bit more beef but otherwise great. Staff very friendly too.

Fantastic hospitality. Well kept beer and Guinness. Amazing choice of food and the tapas choice for lunchtime dining is spot on. This was our second visit which was just as good as the first.
