We decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday roast at The Wheatsheaf, having heard good things about the food there. It was such a great choice, as our food was fabulous. We had booked our table, which was a good decision as it was getting quite busy. It was ready for us, with our name on it, with nicely set out glasses and cutlery. We had our dog with us and he was given biscuits and water. It was no problem having him in the eating area. Stopped for lunch. Friendly barmaid made for a lovely welcome. Badgers beer was excellent. Lunch not great. Special of chicken and ham pie promised great things. Crunchy pastry but so little filling. Days soup was ok, but only half a bow with 1x slice of dry bread for 6.95! Happily return for a beer but will skip lunch.

The reviews for this pub appeared mainly good so we stopped by for lunch , sadly in our view they did not live up to what people had said , no scampi , no fish chips and the food was average , the poor waitress was rushed off her feet because the place appeared to be short staffed.

It appears to be a popular spot with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff who are very attentive. The restaurant closes at 3pm on Saturdays. The food we tried was decent, but I don't think I would dine there again. However, I would definitely return for another drink. Thank you! Réservez une table maintenant

The restaurant currently does not have any food available because the chef is missing, but the service and atmosphere were excellent. They also offer a nice selection of drinks. The price per person ranges from £10 to £20. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I only stopped by for a drink so I can't speak to the food, but the beer was excellent. The staff were friendly and quick, the bar area was quite cozy, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, I'd give the service and atmosphere a 5 out of 5.

Lovely old pub and staff friendly we had lunch on Valentine’s Day it was awful the carbonara was just like plain spaghetti dry no meat no taste steak was no better raw mushrooms and tomato’s burnt chips very disappointed won’t be going back

The pub oozes character, oak beams, stone floors, log fire and a chapel which is used as a function room. Pub grub and a good range of beers. There is a separate dining area or you can eat in the bar area if you wish. Réservez une table maintenant

This pub is fantastic! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the homemade Scotch eggs with Piccalili are absolutely delicious.
