the place is a little lateral road away and is over a few buildings and an art yard where small structures e.g. half a wooden boat is at the end) offers the accommodation. the concept is simply a...limited menu shellfish only when I visited, and a very basic weinlist the red or the white', which does not really meet the requirement, a list even are called. I didn't really think that the original boat structure to which we were directed was very small and uncomfortable despite the actual self/seat - I felt that we could simply stand up in the small wood thing that happened as table - because I had shellfish love what pampered everything for me, was the service. we were shown in the sitting, t...
Had THE best time at the Wheelhouse in September. We were delighted to get in at all as it can be fully booked six months in advance. It absolutely did not disappoint, and even exceeded our expectations. Was wonderfully quirky, staff very attentive, and most...importantly the food was sublime. Freshly caught local shellfish cooked to perfection, with local homemade bread and crispy fries. The welcome and ambience felt like we were at a good friend's house for dinner (a Michelin starred chef friend), in their front room overlooking the harbour. Wonderful wonderful wonderful.. Had an amazing visit here last night. Relaxed and quirky atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable. They make the place feel like you've been invited into their home for a fabulous feast and my goodness what a feast it was!! The...chef did an excellent job of creating a variety of flavours and all the fresh shellfish was cooked to perfection. The oysters were wonderfully cold and salty too. I'm just salivating whilst composing this in preparation for our next visit hopefully there will be a table available!!! (Well worth putting your name down on the cancellation list you may be lucky). Fabulous fish with a fabulous view. Fabulous, knowledgeable staff too! You can tell the calibre of this restaurant by the length of the waiting list! Such a simple idea to provide just great quality seafood with the minimum of fuss. Even the wine is...just red or white (but excellent)! So get ready to make a mess as you will have to attack the lobster and crab yourself, but also be prepared for a really good feast of seafood. We had a magical evening here. I only wish more places would realise it makes sense to do a few things well rather than lots of things badly! Réservez une table maintenant
no idea what this is about. ate their at two places (the hope that it would be better) and it was disappointing to say the least. lobster over boiled the first time, with forgetful combitous wine. Limited drinks options. the second time was the half of the menu...no lobster or crab. personal all over the room. as a result I have canceled my last booking. genuinely don't get why it is rated. nothing special, so many better opportunities in falmouth.
absolutely wonderful place, I love everything about it. eating is really amazing, yes, there are only shellfish, chips and very tasty brot on offer, but that is what it really does what it is shellfish and crab restaurant. the weeping list is not the longest, but the wee is really good. we love wheelhouse and will be very sad when it will close the door in the mai. we'll miss you. many thanks for all the fabulous time we had!
Used on-line booking system and Face Book messenger to communicate with the restaurant regarding booking a table. Member of staff who replied to my message was extremely polite but very unhelpful. This restaurant is busy and always booked up in advance, so do not expect...to be accommodated no matter what your special circumstances are.
Third time here, never been disappointed, food always first class as is the service. Was slightly worried when told we were being seated in a boat' rather than the restaurant. No need to worry, was really cool, sitting in an upturned half boat...nice personal space...and cosy with an outdoor heater....think will request this next time! Réservez une table maintenant
we had our amazing dezember meal before we close not to february again, which we have booked well inadvance to mai the sad news is that we hear that it will end in the mai closing, which will be a great loss as...it is the best fish restaurant in falmouth town bur we wish tina all workers the best for their future
