Set in the picturesque village of Blakeney where you can enjoy a walk before or after dinner, The Moorings has a simple yet pleasant decor where the team work hard to prepare fresh (mainly) fish dishes without a chip in sight. As with all fresh food restaurants the menu isn't over-long but provides plenty of choice. On the evening that we visited they were full and perhaps a little overworked as the wait was a tiny bit longer than you might expect but it was worth the wait. And they're busy for a reason. The desserts weren't quite up to the rest of the menu (sorry Angela) but our group throughly enjoyed our visit and would happily return.

we were there for dinner with my partner and we both had a good dinner. we started with some broth and olives that were good before we pulled to scallops and the crab cake. scallops were good while the crab cake was not incredibly tasteful. the netzen (see trout and sea bass) were the part of the meal we enjoyed most of the seabass was prepared in a rather delicate way and the meerforelle was delicious. we have finished our dinner with cream brûlé and a summer pudding (both ok). the personal is friendly and welcoming, the place is very beautiful. prices ok

There's no specific vegan menu here but there is a note on the menu saying that they'll accommodate dietary preferences and it turned out that 3 mains could be easily veganised. I had a really nice homemade pepper and cumin hummus for starter with toasted focaccia. My main was a sweet potato and chick pea tagine, which was tasty but a little bit let down by lumpy couscous (just like I make! and far too much rocket. Not sure whether they do vegan puddings as I was too full! I'm staying in Blakeney for the week so I may be back...

Excellent food from a fish focused menu. Not a huge selection but we much prefer a smaller number of dishes done well, which these were, with very well prepared and presented starters, mains and deserts. Friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating of my wife's food allergy. Desserts are excellent! Loses a star just for the two sittings, which means it feels a bit rushed if you are on the early evening sitting. However, I fully understand the financial need to do this as it is a small restaurant with limited covers.

very yellow room! post: the presentation and taste combinations were fantastic. delicious extra side of dauphinoise kartoffels and fine beans. service was good. negative: maybe we had a bad luck, but the execution of our dishes was badly crooked in areas and very vinegary hollandaise on the asparagus starter, watery plucking of mons that felt the tasty arome, very fat-rolled lamb, which was either a very bad cut or not really reduced, and the only cream with the pecan-tarte felt like a down.

We revisited The Moorings after three years and I'm so glad we did! We had a lovely three course meal with the main dish of seabass standing out. I asked for an alternative to the pancetta peas and the restaurant obliged, giving me samphire instead which was beautiful. The potato and green beans as sides were delicious too. Starters and pudding were good but definitely worth it for the Seabass and the overall service (attentive and friendly, especially the young waiter!

we had an excellent dinner here, so a Jewel! 100% recommended. the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, the fish soup was to die, and the venison my friend looked delicious. also the supplements were more tasteful. I finished with a ginger doll that was a comforting pleasure. I would go back to blakeney to eat again in this restaurant.

We had a fantastic dinner at The Moorings. The seafood risotto was amazing and the fish was extremely fresh. Very good value for money!!!
