Food was average to what I have found in the fusion restaurants here. An odd mix of...Thai style description with a distinctly Indian flavour... but very edible.. Always having to buy bottled table water in a place where the tap water is very potable is always a bug bear for me.

The Theatercafe in Jena is not only a popular meeting place for creatives, but also a starting point for dancing-loving night-sweepers. The restaurant is charming and lovingly furnished and there is still a cozy outdoor sitting outside the door. The service on the self-service strut is great and the prices also fit.
For over 10 years I've known the Theatercfé. If I'm in a family visit in Jena, here's my living room. An ambience in which you feel comfortable and very nice staff. And you can eat well there. All I can do is lie to everyone. The theatre café has always been one of the most pleasant addresses in Jena. Very tasty house lemonades, good cafe, also regional wines and a great ambience.
Zwar etwas teurer für ein kleines Mittagessen, aber dafür sehr lecker und in einer nicht ganz gewöhnlichen Umgebung. Nächstes Jahr geh ich ganz bestimmt dort noch mal essen.
Had lunch here with a large group. The service was quick and friendly and the food was very good. It's a very relaxed place
