Thomahof came to TripAdvisor with a high rating, but we just had to ask the locals in Hinterzarten where they would go on special occasions and again, Thomahof! We were not disappointed about the set dinner without revealing what should be served, certainly for an inquiry if we had something we did not like was both discovery and sheer joy. A culinary surprise after the other and the fillet was so, so very juicy n just type that makes me salivate again everywhere no apologies for openness here. And the price was incredible that I would have to pay 2 3 times that for such quality back home, and without the natural Black Forest views... my family rated this the best meal of our trip.
...I recommend you spend a few days at Thomahof.Seated in the best corner of Hinterzarten this family owned hotel is truly a place for chilling of for all generations. The Thoma family is making all efforts to give you a good treat. Very tasteful interior design, fantastic food, friendly and attentive staff and a superb wellness area are some features to highlight, which allows you to chill off and get spoiled easily.Thank you, Thoma family for your hospitality once again.
We didn't stay in this hotel because it was fully booked but we had dinner twice in the very nice and cosy restaurant. Typical german styl which we like very much. The service was excellent and friendly. The whole dinner (several courses) were outstanding and we will absolutely return in the future if we are in this region! Conclusion: If you are looking for a very good restaurant, even if you don't stay in the hotel, go inside and you won't regret it.
The restaurant is nice, the food was good and the service was very friendly and attentive. High standards compared to similar places in the region. We were 10, and the bill was 470 euros including wine and a full meal for all. We really liked it... probably the best dinner in our 1 week stay in the region.

Very nice and quiet hotel in a superb scenery as an ideal starting point for walking and hiking in summer. Spa environment is very nice with swimming pool, garden, pole pool, saunas... 5 course choice menu and very good breakfast make this hotel a place where it is good to stay.
Suggested by owners of our hotel just up the hill. Décor was a blend of modern and traditional Black Forest. Very quality establishment and the food did not disappoint. Well worth a visit and quite a nice surprise in a town the size of Hinterzarten!
I stayed at this rather pricy hotel before, but during this recent visit just went there for dinner. The food is simply superb, and the service was excellent! Our Tunisian waiter really knew all the best wines to have with each course.
We had a great dinner, arrived with 2 kids (6,4) The chef sent us an a gift dishes from the kitchen. The atmosphere was lovely and the tastes were great! The service was outstanding and we enjoyed a lovely evening in this restaurant.
