I was looking for a small cafe this Sunday to spend an hour and have something small for breakfast while waiting for the family. The city is fully packed because of the just started Oktoberfest and to find a parking place is a horror show. So driving around i could find a place not far away from this nice cafe furnished in typical Bavarian style. It was one of just few opened on Sunday so looked really good from outside and welcoming from inside the decision was an easy one. I got a place in the back in the proper restaurant area. Came here one Sunday afternoon with family. We had a reservation and arrived at 2pm. It was pretty empty at first but filled up quickly within the hour. There was a menu of the day, with very limited warm meals. My partner had the broccoli soup and it was WAY too salty. I ordered the roast beef with potatoes and to my surprise some thin slices of cold beef carpaccio arrived on a plate with warm potatoes. I felt quite misled by the roast beef description. A basket of bread was provided at no charge. There was a constant queue near the door for cakes. You could see the place was really popular with the locals. Schwarzwael Kirsch Torte was still semi-frozen, Kaesesahne was also semi-frozen and absolutely tasteless, Rueblikuchen has a little taste, raspberry tart no special taste, Cappuccino was good that a glass of tap water was there as you could sprinkler the bitter taste, the servants were friendly and the order came relatively fast on our table. The few and unusual spectators were rather moderate. After fresh renovation, it should look a bit better and more beautiful in the back part of the café, the moebels are partly also replaced and honed by Anno. Others like to taste it there, but today's trip didn't wake us up. Tasters are different, thank God
This place was great overall. I had the Italian breakfast and it was delicious. I also had a pretzel with mustard that was amazing. My friend had the luxury breakfast and everything was really good with that as well. The best thing though was the jelly they served. It was the best I’ve ever had! I had to buy a couple of jars for myself at their store to take back home. I wish I had enough room to try the cakes!
While out walking with our German friends, they took us to this local restaurant where we enjoyed a wonderful brunch together. The atmosphere was like you were in the kitchen of your favourite aunt, and she had just taken the pretzels out of the oven. A great time was had, and the meal was excellent and nourishing. Service prompt and efficient.
When you want to start your day with an excellent breakfast then consider doing so at the Cafe Schuntner. The atmosphere inside is comfortable and harmonious. The Service is excellent and extensive. Furthermore they do not rush you to anything. The prices are adeaquate and anyway comfortable to your purse.
