I used to be a loyal customer at this restaurant because I loved the food; it reminded me of the cuisine from my hometown. However, everything changed one day when we were seated at the table closest to the cashier. From there, we had a clear view of the kitchen, where the male owner went from the cashier—handling cash, cards, and the register—directly to preparing skewers without washing his hands or putting on gloves. We were so disturbed by this that we couldn't finish our meal and left immediately, never to return. While we had previously put up with the unpleasant smell in the restroom and the subpar service, this was simply unacceptable. It's such a disappointment.

This restaurant specializes in North Chinese cuisine, particularly flour-based dishes. The food quality is decent but not exceptional. The Chinese churros, known as 油条, were fresh and crispy, which I enjoyed. The tofu jelly, called 豆脑, was freshly made but a bit too salty for my taste. I also tried the beef burritos, 牛肉饼, which were okay, though the filling wasn't fully warmed through. Overall, I would rate the food quality at 4 stars. However, the service brings down the rating. They only accept cash and do not take credit cards, despite having credit card logos displayed on the wall. When I inquired, they confirmed only cash is accepted.

The hot soy milk is wonderful, and the leeks in the leek box are both crispy and juicy. The fried noodles are a bit on the salty side, but still quite enjoyable. The wonton soup has a well-balanced saltiness, making it an ideal choice for a traditional Chinese breakfast in Houston. The restaurant opens at 8 AM and is closed on Wednesdays. There is convenient parking available, and the staff is friendly. Just a heads up: the restaurant prefers cash payments, so it’s a good idea to bring some cash with you.

The custard buns were served piping hot, featuring a creamy filling that was just right. However, my favorite were definitely the chive pockets. They included egg and noodles, which provided a fantastic texture that was easy to eat. I would definitely order those again. The steamed dumplings were visually appealing, resembling crystal dumplings with their translucent wrappers. The filling was juicy and perfectly seasoned. Overall, I had a wonderful breakfast experience! Réservez une table maintenant

I really enjoyed their wontons—the wrappers are incredibly thin, and the filling is exceptionally tender. I'm not typically a fan of Hong Kong-style wontons because they often include a lot of ingredients like water chestnuts and shrimp. However, I truly appreciate the traditional version that highlights just the meat. Achieving such tenderness is no small task, but this restaurant has really mastered it. And on top of that, it's surprisingly affordable!

We really enjoyed the generous portion sizes of the food. The flavors were delightful, and the spice level was just right. The prices were quite reasonable, especially considering the current inflation. However, do keep in mind that you shouldn't expect the same level of comfort or attentive service that you'd find at a more upscale restaurant; we understand what we paid for.

This restaurant is a fantastic option for a Chinese breakfast. The service is exceptional, and the prices are quite affordable. They also accept credit cards, which is definitely a bonus. Just keep in mind that it can get a bit crowded at times since there are only six tables available. Réservez une table maintenant

If I could, I would give them zero stars. They apply a 3.9% fee for credit card payments, but there were no notices about this displayed anywhere. The food was mediocre and quite bland. Overall, I was very disappointed.
