The bagels were all warm when I picked them up at 7am. Fluffy, chewy, and with not too much center hole. I got my usual veggie bagel with light veggie cream cheese (big chunks of carrot and bell pepper), lettuce, and tomato. I thought I saw they had cucumber but didn?t get any in my bagel. They also have a large selection of bagel flavors including some unusual ones (no one in all of NJ or NY make jalapeño cheddar though, much to my despair). Of course I got my favorite, plain. No line at 7am, they were quick and have plenty of tables and seating inside. Nothing fancy as far as decor, interior was showing its age but you go for the bagels not the atmosphere. I found the plain bagel I had here to be excessively doughy. I'm not a professional baker, but I suspect that they didn't let the dough proof long enough. My spouse tried a sesame bagel sandwich, and while that bagel was slightly less doughy than mine, both were still too hard, in my opinion as a semi-expert bagel reviewer. I much prefer the bagels at Alfa Bagels in Randolph (though they might use a bit too much sugar for some) and Mountain Lakes Bagel and Deli (even if the staff there often seem a bit out of it). The line can get quite long, but it moves fairly quickly. They offer a great selection of bagels, and I was impressed to find so many still available when I arrived around 10 a.m. on a Saturday, even with the line wrapping around to the door. They also have a wide variety of spreads, including an intriguing unicorn cream cheese at the moment. I’m thrilled that TFAB is open on Saturdays and Sundays because my husband and I enjoy making a weekend bagel stop. They serve fantastic East Coast-style bagels, with a perfectly boiled exterior and a fluffy interior. We visited at 1 PM on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of bagels still available—it’s not often that you find such options in the afternoon! This will definitely be our go-to place for picking up a dozen bagels from now on. Good bagel shop. I've definitely had better bagels but the whitefish salad was good (a little salty) and the service was on point. I live away from NJ now so I really appreciate the gruff but competent service when I hit this kind of place. Time for Bagels would be 5+ stars in just about any other area of the country.
Cute little bagel store in the heart of morris plains. We got a classic lox on bagel and the corned beef bagel sandwich both were delicious with a generous serving of cream cheese and meat. The service was also friendly and quick even though they were busy, would recommend!
