Booked online and arrived 5 minutes early, the restaurant smelled a bit strange and we noticed as soon as we walked in. I requested on the booking to sit in restaurant but we were shown to a table one away from the bar. I said we requested restaurant and was ignored as the guy walked away. Waiter came over a few minutes later and looked very stressed. We gave our order and were asked if we wanted pigs in blankets which used to be £1.99. We said yes please and then waiter advised they were £3.99. We just said ok and went up to get our food there wasn’t much of a queue for a change and I got my meat, good selection of potatoes and veg. hi all, we popped over to the carvery at over at approx 5.10pm last evening Wednesday 22nd november 23, due to the discount 4 days being on again th today they were very busy here at over, and could only get a table near to the bar counter, which was all fine. my brother just went for a starter the prawns which looked very nice indeed! he also went for a sweet the new of their menu 2 pancakes with ice cream and cream fresh which look very nice also! I just went for the usual standard carvery set meal prices at 10.29pds each now. my meal was very good, I had alittle of red cabbage, sprouts, carrots, cauliflower and one small roast and alittle mash, and the lovely sliced dauphine potatoes!! al...
Our meal was arranged for 12:30. At this stage you would expect everything to be perfect. Roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked, left and cooked again or reheated, certainly not hot fluffy and crisp. and quite dry. Sprouts were cold. Most of the meal was warm rather than hot. The carvery is always really good, plenty to choose from. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. There is one member of staff not sure if she is a manager but she is very rude and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Didn't really make us want to return. No parsnips, the sprouts tasted earthy, peas looked like they had been sat there for a long time,almost no gravy and sauces, only the dregs left, they needed to be filled up, shouldn't have to ask.
