We entered, there was no-one at the welcome desk. We found a table and I went to the bar to order a meal and drinks. The young man behind the bar asked if we had booked and because we hadn't we had to move from our table and go and sit in the bar area and go up to the bar when we were ready to order. Not a good start. We placed our order for two carveries and a pot of tea for two. We duly queued up for our carvery and even before being served noticed that the server was having trouble carving the meat. Our turn eventually came. Would you like Yorkshire Pudding? I went to this restaurant for a carvery and was not impressed. It was quite busy and when we arrived without a reservation, we were just told to find seats. There were not many empty tables, and some that were available were still dirty from previous customers. Additionally, there seemed to be a meeting of regional managers going on, with 4 or 5 people taking up space at 2 large tables meant for 12. The interior of the building had a dirty feel to it. The staff who served us were polite, but the roast beef was mostly gristle and not edible. The vegetables and roast potatoes were the only highlights of the meal.
Food is usually spot on, but the service is horrendous! 10+mins standing at the bar to order drinks, seeing staff members walk in and around the bar area not serving, and hearing their reaction of I don 't care that there is no barperson serving is appalling and absolutely unacceptable. I happy to queue at a bar, but when I 'm at an almost empty bar, being ignored by staff members, that is unacceptable. Train your staff, better your staffing regimes and rotors, do better. This isn 't the first time I 've had service like this at Shawbirch TC, but the first time I have left a review about it!
Food was nice, service was average but whatever you do don't order for collection/take away. I ordered for take away online payed and then turned up later to collect my order. I was told they don't do take away at all and don't even have take away boxes for my food. They hadent prepared my order at all either, it seemed to be a total surprise to them. Arfter a wait for them to make my food it arrived in some clear plastic containers wraped in clingfilm. The food was good though.

The food as with all Tobys is fine. You get what you pay for and know what you 're getting. The only difference between them all, that makes or breaks the experience. Incompetent and or rude staff. Seated at a dirty table, wrong drinks which we had to wait. They lost the ticket for a non-carvery kids meal then oncewe complained brought the wrong meal out. Terrible experience topped off with doing us a favour by correcting the wrong bill. Service: Dine in

Amazing service by chloe today, looked after us as soon as we arrived, seated promptly and drink offered. Food was delicious and so enjoyed my pork wrap.
