Where do I start... Ordered our meal, with a min suggested delivery time (which they set). later the driver turns up with the wrong meal. I didn't accept it, and instead sent him back to collect the correct meal. Then the app sends...me a notification to say that the restaurant has cancelled the order. Then I call the restaurant, and the person answering the phone (who spoke perfect english until he realised what I was calling about) pretended not to be able to speak english. I called back, and he finally took the call and told me that they could still do the meal, but I would have to call the delivery company personally and ask them to send a driver, and that I would have to pay an addition...
The previous owner was happy to cater for vegan customers and the vegan version of the food is acceptable. The new owner have different approach, which is different. For someone who enjoys the heavy spices, food cooked in lots of oil, it is fine. However,...it is not what we would enjoy to go out for, if the cooking style is not healthy and on oil and salt use.
Tong Lok is a Chinese restaurant run by a family, offering delicious and comforting dishes. They have a wide range of menu options that are carefully prepared for great flavor. The service is friendly and attentive whether you're dining in or getting takeout. It's a great spot for enjoying a hearty meal with family or friends. Highly recommend trying it out.
My family and I visited this restaurant last night. The server was very friendly and the Set Menu C was absolutely delicious. All the dishes were made with fresh ingredients and had great flavors. The atmosphere was also very enjoyable. We will definitely be returning in the future!

We ordered some food for pickup and very happy with it awesome dumplings best sweet and sour pork I've had recently! We haven't been here for ages after not having great food 4 years ago the new management seems to have really turned the place around delicious food!
Had takeaway on this occasion and whilst it is always better to dine in, the takeaway was delicious This restaurant has been an institution in Ashburton for more than years A clean friendly local Chinese restaurant
Food and service was excellent here. Had the salt and pepper beancurd at it was one of the best I have had. Big selection for vegetarians as well. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Went in tonight to try after the new management had taken over must say was a huge improvement. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will be returning soon.

Amazing food and friendly staff but service can be a bit slow. It's definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend the salt and pepper tofu for any tofu lovers.
This occasion take away. We rang ahead told would be minutes. Fine. Took minutes. Food okay but service is non-existent. No real apology, I won't be back.
