Just started going here, as the quality of the last place in Nuneaton started slacking , loved the food , however on the 3 times I’ve visited, I’ve had to move the entire contents off the table so I could eat my food also on the last 3 visits was told that the egg delivery was late , 3 consecutive wks ,? Although it’s on the menu , I feel they either have no staff that can cook an egg , or can’t be bothered, if this is the case it should be taken off the menu board rather than tell lies , eggs can be bought from numerous places not far from this shop , and has peeved me enough to put a review on here ,,, So if you like a egg on your breakfast , it’s unlikely your getting one in this place ,t...
Always pop into this place if we decide have a drink in town. Staff friendly, place is clean and one of the best in Nuneaton for conventional fish and chips. Cod is the only fish they have on the menu. We always prefer Haddock but never disappointed here. Just a typical cafe but always clean. We ordered 2 large cods and chips with battered sausages. First we decided to do a review for a place that has been a traditional family business that has been round for years. Easy access for disables and plenty of space for family and kids. Toilets up stairs with another area to sit.
Popped in on a Monday and waited in a small queue for over 15 minutes and it seemed a little chaotic. I didn't wait and went elsewhere. Tried it again today/Wednesday and it was the same but i waited. Wished i hadn't as the food was very mediocre and took over 20 minutes to arrive. Such a shame as this use to be such a nice chip shop with quality fish. I noticed last year the quality wasn't up to it's usual standard but put it down to an off day. I did notice all the staff had changed so maybe it's been sold? I'll not be returning.
Visited for fish and chips, which we have done monthly for years, but won’t be going back the staff has changed, was ignored for 5 minutes whilst waiting to place my order, went upstairs and then after 25 minutes came down to ask what was happening to be told they couldn’t find us and had thrown the food away !! The food was not as nice and was presented badly so won’t be going back

Visited Toppers today and we were disappointed. We ordered the large cod with chips peas. The food took ages to arrive and when it finally did it was lukewarm and the mushy peas were cold. Not sure what's happening there but it used to be a 1st class place and the food was piping hot. Hopefully these reviews are read because Toppers needs to up it's game before we will return
After reading bad reviews on trip advisor and Google, we very nearly didn't go. We changed our minds at the last minute, and I'm glad we did. 3 of us had the seniors fish and chip meal. Fish was nice, batter was crisp, and chips were tasty. The portion size was fine, and meals were hot. When we're in nuneaton again, we'll return.
I spent almost £10 on just chips a sausage and large gravy. I live 5 mins away and my food was sopping in grease, chips were not even cooked. Had nothing else to have for my dinner. Absolutely disgusted. And won't even recommend any one spending their money here.
Really nice fish and chips, they have a varied sea food menu. The large cod and chips meal deal was well worth the money. They do sit in on the restaurant or take away.

This used to be a top notch chippy, but recently it has really gone down hill. Food is luke warm and chips are soggy and full of black bits..
