As we approached the entrance we were left with a promising anticipation given a small queue of people waiting to be seated, and a nearly full dining room. The staff appeared busy and cheerful adding to the positive vibe. After requesting a table for two, the hostess agreed to our suggestion waiting at the bar with her promise of a 10 minute wait. The bar showcased a diverse selection of liquors and beers, yet, unfortunately, we weren 't attended to during our 10 minute wait. We wouldn't go back, but it was okay. We went on a busy Saturday and were seated quickly. They were out of two drinks listed on the menu, no biggie. We had our kids with us and the soup that came with their kids' meals came out quickly and was good. Then the wait began. I kinda knew we were in for it when some time had passed and the server came back to ask me where on the menu my burger had been. I pointed it out to her and was like, OK we're going to be a bit with the food. But it took a very long time for the food to come out, and when it did, it was not accurate. Tops is a Rotterdam treasure. It's nice to have a place in town that is modern-ish, with a decent menu and a steady stream of customers (so you know the food is fresh). While the food that is prepared is good, the menu is outdated, with very few healthy options. Would love to have some whole grain bread options, some fun avocado toasts, some breakfast bowls with some whole grains/poached eggs/greens/nuts/seeds etc or maybe even some huevos rancheros. I come here often as I live in town and that is what people do, but I would honestly prefer to eat at home given the options available.
Recently met a friend to break bread visit, lovely place!! We enjoyed a wonderful welcoming waitress who was patient, kind and attentive (big tip for sure). The place was busy and only getting busier, however we were welcome to stay and enjoy our visit. The food was delicious picture attached. If you love diner food like I do you will enjoy your time here. I got hash with eggs and English muffin, yummy orange juice too! I will go back when in the area. Bathrooms clean. Parking lot safe. My first time here today and it will not be my last. The food was cooked to perfection and the portion was good. In a post pandemic world it's nice to find a place that is a good value for the money. What struck me the most about dining here was how clean everything was. The table and chairs were spotless and the glasses and silverware were shiny. I truly appreciate the effort put in by staff.
Ordered breakfast. I gotta say I was very impressed that we ordered breakfast and our sunny side up were cooked perfectly ! And that's on a delivery ordered. Impressive. We totally enjoyed everything. We got the house made corn beef with eggs over easy. Home fries and toast. Very good. Cooked perfectly and got to watch that yolk spill over into my corn beef ! Way to go !!!
Food ks pretty good but could be a bit more consistent (3.5 or 4 stars). They are, however, abysmal at filling delivery orders. Items consistently missing. Wrong soup often. Upcharges they don't tell you about beforehand. They upcharge for basic brocolli. Probably done with this place after not getting sides the last 2 times we ordered, and a lot of other past issues.
Though the reason for our family gathering was sad, it was a very nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed ourselves. Service and food were very good.
