My aunty and I (locals) dined at this terrible restaurant last night. When paying for the bill at the counter, the waitress asked for $1 surcharge for using card. Mind you, there was no sign indicating the same both outside and inside the restaurant. Not having enough cash on me and refusing to pay the surcharge on principle, I decided to grab some cash from an ATM just across the road. The waitress then asked for me to leave my mobile phone with her as a collateral. I obviously refuse. The manager (I assume) then stood outside watching me like a hawk grab money from ATM. looking for a light bite before a gig at The Enmore we tried here - looked full from the street but there are a number of tables out the back (probably enough for 16-20 people) its BYO beer & wine, so we just had juice & soft drink, a garlic bread which was pretty ho-hum and not worth the carbs or calories involved; and a great pizza capricciosa, thin crispy, just enough topping to remind one of Italy not generic aussie pizzas. we shared a medium although advised by our waiter that a medium was for one person, a large to share. we had just enough to fill us before our gig, all for $26
We called in here one night for a pizza while in Sydney. The restaurant was pretty quiet compared to others in the area and we were seated quickly. Torino is BYO only for beer and wine so I popped along the road for a bottle of wine. We were not starving hungry so opted to share a garlic bread to start and a medium meat lovers pizza.The garlic bread was a little dry but the pizza was nice and enough for two people to share. Service was O.K. but the place just felt a bit old fashioned and set in it's ways.
We were weary from being in Sydney all day and walked by Torinos which looked inviting. We are glad we went in. We shared a pizza and a bowl of pasta. The people in the restaurant, the waiter and waitresses, the cooks, everyone were friendly and wanted to be sure that we were taken care of. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there twice!

Appears to be some pretty mixed reviews for this place, without having read these we walked off the street and gave it a go. The risotto and pizza were very nice , the service was quick and the staff were very hospitable. If I was in Newtown again, would grab another bite there
Me and my wife were in this place just to have pasta . We didn't expect something special but pasta was TERRIBLE. After two bites my wife felt nauseous. The didn't want to refund even though she just touched pasta. Extremely disappointed just waste of money!!!

The pizza was awesome, staff were very friendly! Head out the back towards the toilet sign to see the beautiful outdoor seating

I really like the pizza here, it's better than some of the other pizza in the neighborhood and certainly better than dominos.
Always good for a classic pizza or pasta. The staff are friendly and attentive. Torino's also do takeaway and home delivery.
