This place, for some reason, caught my eye when we pulled into town yesterday. The two reviews (at the time) were both quite positive, so we decided to go. Best decision! Since we were eating in, we were treated to a large bowl of freshly-fried taco chips and salsa. My wife does not like hot food so she was pleased to discover that the salsa was mild...although if you dislike cilantro you will be trouble. ;-) The combination plate had a chicken flauta, a small beef burrito and a beef soft taco. There was a small salad, refried beans and rice, as well. I ordered a tamale on the side, spicy (well, warm but not tear-inducing, sadly), and we had plenty of food. This a small family run Mexican restaurant. There are fresh made tamales and corn tortillas on the counter ready for you to take home. Their menu is limited in size but not in flavour! I can't get enough of this place. I've tried a number of their dishes and I've never been disappointed. They bring chips and salsa to your table if you're dining in - their fresh made salsa is the best restaurant salsa I've ever had. Their 4 taco plate is my fave. The freshest and most flavourful tortillas you'll ever have.
After a horrendous experience at "The Mexican Restaurant and Taco House", We found this place next to a small grocery store that specializes in Mexican products. On our next visit to Leamington, We were not disappointed. The restaurant is family owned and the Food is great. Service is above average. They have Tortillas and often Tamales ready to go. Prices are very affordable and portions nicely sized.We have marked this as one of our places to visit if we want decent Mexican Food.
