Used to love this place but the past few times I've been there the staff has acted like you're bothering them by being there. The last time the waitor took our tables' order without writing anything down, and then multiple things came out completely different (like getting fried pickles even though you had ordered their amazing tots), please just write stuff down if you can't remember. Today I was going to put in a to go order, I walked up and there were two people leaning on the host stand chatting, which is fine you should be able to relax when you're not busy.. But I asked a question and one employee was normal but the other rolled her eyes and acted super off-putting so I just left and got food somewhere else.. It's like the staff is trying to be a certain image or something? I don't care if you're cool I just want decent service and food. It's a bummer because I like the food and location but prefer not to feel like I'm somehow doing something wrong by ordering food and tipping well. It's honestly very weird.
I'm from the neighborhood, live on the same block as this place. It is my neighborhood bar. They have good food and drink, but far too often the atmosphere and energy is off. I've been here several times now and the wait staff normally isn't hospitable even in the slightest, and perhaps even, what feels like being outright annoyed by the presence of customers.
