Arrived at 11.30 on a Wednesday in March. I was the only guest so obviously the service was rapid. I sat looking out of the window and ordered a Thai beer and a spicy, crispy-beef dish with boiled rice from the main menu. English is not the restaurant's forte, so the menu is fun to understand. Whilst sipping my beer, two regulars came in for takeaways and one other guest sat down at one of the other 16 free tables – it’s quite a large takeaway-cum-restaurant. Another guy came in and talked about party service with the proprietor. My meal arrived – see photo, but I’m afraid that the crispy beef was chewy; almost like deep-fried beef jerky, and the salt-based sauce didn't help the flavour, so...
