I'm so sad to check that badly? I love this restaurant so much. Me and my husband, the typical date-night spot when we visit downtown SB. Last Saturday (2 nights ago) he and I had dinner there and we ordered the pasta all bygole (spaghetti and mussels) and another shellfish duck consisting of pasta and various fish. There was a single mussel in the whole thing that looked like it was bad, so we could get it aside, though stupid and continue eating, because everything tasted good. We both woke up so incredibly sick this morning that we had to watch urgently. I was told by a doctor that we had food poisoning. Owned by the Morosin Familia of Santa Barbara's Beloved Italian-Greek Deli from many years Trattoria Vittoria has now also been leading its Italian tradition of Great Italian Food and a well-stocked beautiful bar. You want to arrive early and Local Legend Barman Tony get you a drink and be ready for his Snappy banners, a nice long-term local guy. Another personal favorite in Trattoria is a classic film that always plays by Turner Classic Movies a la' Sinatra to Bogart Bacall. Recommended as 40-year-old locals!
This place feels a little more cozy and casual, making it a good place for couples young and old. Suitable for both friendly and romantic dates, and even family gatherings. Of all Italian restaurants I've been to in SB, this one is my favorite in terms of food. Their lasagna and tagliatelle were amazing. Update: Tried their pork chop and tiramisu, and both were superb, too.
The Bartender could NOT make a love Martini to save his life!! The Polish server looks just like the Polish worker in Under the Tuscan Sun Movie, was not very experienced, the food was ok. It was NOT about the money, it was about the experience!! I value restaurants from all over the world that I visit!!
