A great hearty menu of pies and stews. If you've been for a long hike it's the kind of pub food that will fill you and re-energise the soul. We ate there on Saturday night at 7.30pm and one table left for the 4 of us. We had Hungarian goulash, ramblers stew, Brunswick stew and steak pie and all of us enjoyed the flavours and portion size. A friendly atmosphere and efficient service. As for accessibility, there is no disabled access to the toilets, and getting a wheelchair in would be quite a challenge due to the steps. Pricing is reasonable, ranging between £10 to £20 per person. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at a 3 out of 5. If you’re looking for a recommended dish, the Large Pork Pie with Two Cheeses from a choice of 40 varieties comes highly suggested. Parking can be somewhat challenging, but there is a free parking lot available.

Absolutely superb. Well kept excellent beer selection with equally good lager and cider. The cheese is unequaled in variety and presentation with a super selection of other dishes.
