Went here for lunch with a friend on Saturday 1 Oct. I had high hopes, but was sorely disappointed. Firstly, the wait staff are too cool to be enthusiastic. I wanted a large coffee but was told they only had one size. In fact, they were serving filter coffee in mugs, but for some reason it wasn't possible to serve a flat white in the mug? Hipster pretentiousness perhaps? The food was not cheap and not big either. The butter was not enough to cover one slice of the large toast never mind two. Manfriend had been wanting to check True North out for ages, so went along for breakfast. Super warm service as soon as you step in the door - kinda feels like I'm in someone's house. Eclectic set up, with the walls and shelves covered in weird and wonderful Latin-esque paraphernalia. Went for a breakfast quesadilla, not great but maybe I had food envy over the Alamo that Manfriend ordered. He also enjoyed the vast selection of hot sauces - I've never seen such concentration over a condiment selection! Will come back and try again, just wasn't what I felt like on the day.
Ordered from uber eats boring food the sweet pie was too sweet the apple n strawberry it tasted like pot pourrie essential oil and tiny piece came The pancakes fluffy but the topping um custard n cherries diff but ok may be add some fancy ice cream n a double cream would of jazzed it up and 1 more pancake coz it's too small so close but cigar for this cafe Coffee was good it All up cost $30 plus extra $5 for delivery Thats ok if I had got quality and decent size portion food that tasted amazing unfortunately it failed n my mouth taste like pot pourrie

Called in here for breakfast on our last morning in Coburg. This place recommended by our Airbnb host and we weren't disappointed. Friendly service and good food. Loved their decor, very retro and eclectic.(Especially for me what appeared to be an original MC5 poster). I ordered the Texas Eggs and my partner had Huevos Rancheros. Both generous portions and enjoyable, I found the tortilla chips intriguing. Coffee was also nice and appears to be a popular choice for the locals as well. on a our next visit to Melbourne we will be back.
There are a couple of reviews that state that the service is slow. It is quite slow, but the staff members are friendly when they finally get there.The food was tasty. They can veganise almost all the dishes on the menu.The Peachy Pancakes were some of the best I have had in a very long time. Big vegan win!Coffee is Melbourne coffee worthy. Bit pricey, but great spot for veg/non-veg catch-ups.
The service was VERY friendly and EXTREMELY SLOW! The coffee was SOUR. Yes! SOUR! The "Blueberry" bagel tasted like butter and garlic. The poached eggs on toast were good, but not worth going there for.
Dropped in for the first time for lunch and am not feeling it. Fairly crowded & a good vibe. Friendly staff, but slow service & over priced for what it is. Overall a pretty average experience.

Hands down the best place for breakfast / coffee in Coburg. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and top notch food - the huevos rancheros are a particular favourite. Can't ask for more than that!
We came here for the first time in years (visiting Melbourne), I loved the hash smash and my wife always orders the Reuben. It was as great as we remembered.
