Truro Heights Irving Big Stop

The restaurant was busy when we arrived however quickly emptied as we were there between lunch and supper meals. We placed our order, and after waiting for approximately 20 minutes it arrived. We asked for knives as these were not placed on the table with the other utensils. While waiting for the knives I checked my baked potato which was not cooked as my fork would not go through it. Waitress came back and I told her potato not cooked, and my Moms food was cold so asked that it be heated. She took the food back and still brought no knives for the other person at the table. My friends and I have been coming here over the years for family/friends lunch and dinner. This diner is going down hill in the service department and fast. There is not enough staff working at any particular time. There are long line ups waiting to be seated and at the cashier. Our server was running her feet off, serving drinks, food, taking order and cashiering, and cleaning tables. It is any wonder she screwed our order and we left with empty stomachs, lunch hour. I asked why there isn't enough staff and she said it the way they scheduled it. But this seems to happening more and more. We won't be going back, poor service and/or poor management comes at a cost.

Our first time eating at this Big Stop and it was decent but not as good as I have tasted in New Minas. Servers were friendly, food wasn't incredibly fast but it was okay. The place was a bit on the messy side however they could have had a busy lunch and didn't get time to tidy before supper which isn't good but it never ruined our super.

Wanted something to eat before driving home after work,got inside about 445.literally in minutes the restaurant was full with a line up to the door.Mostly family groups of 6 or 8 so the servers were really earning their money.Had the fish with a baked potato and veg,no complaints here.Always been my place to stop for good food. We have eaten at several Irving Big Stops in Atlantic Canada and this one is by far the best that we have eaten at. The portions are huge and the service is great. There is a nice selection of fresh baked goods as well.

Stopped in the Truro Big Stop for lunch and had a nice meal. We had the pancakes/sausages and open face hot turkey sandwich. Both were hot, good portion size, and tasted great. Our server was friendly and efficient.

Food good, great selection on the menu. Had the pan fried haddock and baked potato, good value. Haddock was very tasty. Service was a little slow however, it was busy. Staff was very pleasant.

Overpriced! Terrible coffee at this location Bad experience Food ok but why same prices as a nice restaurant such as frank and Gino's Réservez une table maintenant

I always found the food really good with a good portion size and the staff is wonderful . The business hours are really good

Have eaten here many times, it is a favorite go to place. Amazing homemade deserts. Terrific staff and fast service.
