Tsutimi, located in New York City, is a remarkable culinary destination that artfully blends traditional and modern Japanese flavors. As soon as you step inside, the tranquil yet elegant atmosphere sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. What truly distinguishes Tsutimi is its commitment to the craft of sushi and omakase. Each dish is carefully prepared and presented by the chef, reflecting a dedication to excellence. The menu offers a delightful mix of fresh, high-quality ingredients, inviting guests on a culinary journey that exceeds expectations. The intimate setting, featuring minimalist decor and sushi bar seating, enhances the charm of Tsutimi. With attentive service and pe...

Perhaps my expectations were set too high, but I didn't experience any truly awe-inspiring moments during my dining experience at this Michelin one-star kaiseki restaurant. One aspect I PARTICULARLY DISLIKED was the dining counter, which is open and lacks privacy. While dining, you are facing many other diners, which made me feel quite uncomfortable and hindered my enjoyment of the meal. They did offer many commendable aspects in their cuisine, but they all fell within the realm of what I could already understand and appreciate. I also opted for their sake pairing, and as someone who can handle alcohol well, I found that the amount of sake served seemed excessive in comparison to the portion...

Perhaps my expectations were set too high, but I didn't encounter any truly remarkable moments during my visit to this Michelin one-star kaiseki restaurant. One aspect I particularly disliked was the open dining counter, which left little room for privacy. Sitting across from many other diners made me feel quite uncomfortable and detracted from my overall enjoyment of the meal. While the cuisine offered several commendable elements, they mostly fell within a familiar range that I could already appreciate. I also chose to have their sake pairing, and as someone who can handle alcohol well, I found the amount of sake served to be excessive in relation to the size of the dishes. It felt as thou...

We had an incredible experience celebrating my husband's birthday! Each course was perfectly paired with a suitable wine, and our server was both patient and knowledgeable, providing detailed explanations for each dish. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Between courses, we enjoyed admiring the beautiful decor of the dining room. Sitting close to the kitchen, we were also able to witness the seamless teamwork of the kitchen staff, which was quite impressive. We can't wait to return for another special occasion! The service is great. The Kaiseki cuisine aims to eat the seasonal ingredients and all we’re prepared in small bites.I liked the sablefish, the uni caviar chawanmushi, and the eel rice with the egg yolk the best. Packed with flavor. The only thing I felt a bit off was the price of the drink. I had sparkling water and I was charged 35 for a bottle that I saw in whole foods for 3 dollars. Didn’t like that but otherwise food is good.

I had an outstanding and authentic omakase experience. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with a range of flavors. We ended up with several favorites! We had previously tried a more affordable omakase in the city, which was great, but this place is on a whole other level. It's definitely worth the price, and I would gladly come back.

The meal was enjoyable, but unfortunately, I wasn't particularly impressed, especially given the price. A dinner costing nearly $400 after tax and tips should truly be a memorable experience, but this felt more like a pleasant meal. Odo offers a better experience for nearly $100 less. On a positive note, the staff were very nice and friendly.

Michelin star. Says most of it. Service was exceptional. Food was great, but the flavors lacked some excitement. I give 5 stars here for the exceptional service, attention to detail, and quality of food, though I do wish there was one or two dishes with some acidity, tang, or excitement to change up the savory and umami tempo.
