Went for dinner. Wings appetizer was amazing. The French Onion soup was gross. Dark heavy salty broth tasted like a salty Sherry. The fish tacos were Basa. I asked the server what type of fish it was and she said a white flaky fish. The taste was was just ok. After my meal I looked up Basa. To my surprise I just paid a boat load of money for catfish from polluted waters. In 2007, the US Food and Drug Administration banned the import of basa over health risks. The fish inhabits the Mekong delta, which is polluted with carcinogenic chemicals from the drugs that are dumped into it. Fish farmers from the area use chemicals to kill the parasites that affect the fish. Why would Canada serve this f...
I definitely did not expect much going in as I figured it was a chain restaurant. But the food was surprisingly great, warm, tasty and well priced with plentiful portions! The desserts were amazingly decadent and tasty. We also received extremely friendly and timely service from our table’s server—so we were very happy to eat here. Only thing is that this restaurant doesn’t have washrooms of its own and shares it with the hotel next door. Unfortunately because the washrooms were directly off of the hotel lobby, the washrooms were old and dirty, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Overall this is a great place to eat and it really is facing the Falls.
The service was very good and the food was mediocre. The lobster soup is too salty. The salad was OK, but not enough. The steak was medium rare, but it was too old to cut, so the waiter offered to re-cook it for us and gave us a thick-cut steak, but unfortunately they are not very good at grilling steaks, and the second steak was burnt and the meat was very dry. The waiter made up for it by bringing us a dessert, which was very kind, but it was too sweet. However we were still touched by the warm service.
I order the Bacon Cheddar burger. It was delicious (greasy and juicy)...no seriously,... it was yummy!!! The only thing, they didn't ask how I wanted the burger cooked. I usually order medium rare, but he'll, it really didn't matter because it was that good. And the Caesar Salad was spot on refreshing!! A little more pricier than the other places nearby with burgers, but I was satisfied. Réservez une table maintenant
Very family friendly! Great food! Wonderful staff. Can’t say enough good things about this place! All the staff was so friendly. The service and food was great. One women came over and promised our children special treats if they ate, they got two snack bags each and got to pick something from the treasure chest when we left….can’t say enough good things about this great place.
Food and service were good. I’d highly recommend the cajun chicken penne if you enjoy cheese. As someone who does not eat spicy food on a regular basis, I really enjoyed the chilli flakes kick in the pasta. Other than that, the lobster bisque was decent, though I don’t think the soup was very worth it.
