My boyfriend had come to this restaurant with his daughter and had a great experience so he wanted to bring me here. The second time was not so positive. Our server was Rebecca according to the bill she did not introduced herself) . She was cold and unfriendly and looked pained when we would ask for something and in fact she made faces when I asked her a question. Although we came at 10 am, we felt more like lunch food we had wanted the roast beef sandwich) but she was clear that while we could look at the lunch menu lunch would not be served until 11:30 am. I came here Tuesday for lunch and decided to order their chicken wings since it was half price chicken wing day. I got eight wings and sweet potato fries. The fries were really good, crisp and flavourful. The wings were huge. Gigantic. Great value for money (especially on Tuesdays). However, the wings were severely lacking in seasoning. I'm not talking about the coating of sauce, I'm talking about the meat itself. Once I bit through the saucy exterior, the fleshy interior was just bland. So bland. I had to salt these babies. I have never in my life had to salt chicken wings in a restaurant. Usually they're salt bombs (so you'll order more beer, natch). These people need to brine these wings....
Came here after visiting Brooks Farm. The place is spacious and clean.great for family. We ordered turkey soup, chicken quesadilla, third rack ribs, and kids meal meatball spaghetti. Overall the food are great, comparable to more expensive restaurants. The turkey soup is tasty, but a little too strong on the thyme and herbs. Quesadillas are crispy and ribs are tender. We chose sautéed vegetables for the sides. To our surprise, the vegetables are the highlights of the meal. A good mixed of fresh vegetables like zucchinis, peppers, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, beans, sprouts, etc. All cooked perfectly. I am glad we didn't choose the fries. We went for a late brunch on a Sunday. Our server recommended the beef sandwich, it was enormous. I ended up leaving the bun and just eating the middle, the plate was also overloaded with fries come hungry! I had a bite of my BF's eggs Benedict and it was really delicious, although the fruit salad was a joke better portioned for a garden gnome. Sunday Funday (large Caesar's for $5!! The $9 mimosas seemed a little steep in contrast (which our server seemed fully aware of so I'm assuming she hears that often. Lucky us, it was one of our parties bday so our server brought the table a warm cookie with icing which was even better than it sounds. We'll be back.
Had the best brunch there after spending time at Brooks Farm and we’re so glad we were recommended this restaurant! The food is delicious, very kid- friendly and the service was amazing, will definitely visit again!! A wonderful place! Kid-friendliness: They had a Coloring page menu with crayons and also a kid sized cup with a lid! Made our brunch so much more comfortable with these little kid friendly details so as a mom I appreciated that! Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$10–20
Food is good for Mt Albert let's be real not brimming with food/restaurant choices in the area and suitable for the retirement population portions are good, price is reasonable Service is definitely lacking with regards to their wait staff who does not appear happy working there and they should consider hiring more staff for the weekend rush given there really aren't any other options in the area especially for breakfast/brunch Nothing special about the ambiance
Second time here. Wow what a difference from the first time. Food was good but the service catastrophically bad. Our server Rebecca apparently wasn't happy to be working on the weekend and showed it. I was a server for years when in University. Rule one don't make your problems someone else's. Food was however quite good kitchen at least was happy to be here.
Good comfort food. Portions are very large and have great variety. Everything was very fresh. They have vegetarian options which I consider a plus for sure.
