We decided on eating here based on the rather tenuous reason that they were playing some good music and someone was singing along as they prepared for the evening's opening. Sounded inviting and we figured they were happy in their work.On our return later that night, we found the place busy and buzzing with positive energy but no music! No matter as the service was friendly (and hectic) and they dealt with my mangled franglais with skill. We sat inside which was closer to the theatre of the kitchen and wait staff. More fun.We both had pizzas - I'm not sure what mine was as I just saw one that looked good as it came out of the oven and picked that. I would probably say it was capriciossa. Thin based, good ingredients. Excellent. Lyn's was "Le beaute" - a Corsican choice. A bit too much goats cheese for our liking but otherwise very tasty merquez etc.Wine was a Clos Columbu half litre of red which was a good match.My strawberry gelati turned out to be a sorbet which I'm not a fan of - prefer cream-based.Enjoyable dinner though.
Lovely vegetarian pizza, vego antipasto (essentially a large mixed salad with some really nice additions), pichet of red wine and friendly efficiency, which was appreciated this night before a concert in the nearby church. We preferred this pizzeria to the bigger one nearby based on service, freshness and quality. Not expensive. We have yet to have a poor quality red wine in Corsica by the pichet and here was no exception. It was great to meet the young staff members who provide such friendly service to travellers like us who cannot speak the local language.
It was very busy so service was a bit slow. After looking through the menus and deciding on a menu we were told that they weren't doing the set menu anymore, which sucked. We ordered off the a la carte. The tuna steak was very big and very nice and my stuffed pork medalions with broccui was nice also. It wasn't our first choice restaurant that evening but we were pleasantly surprised.
We took a pizza to-go from this place because it was highly recommended. The waiters seemed busy and annoyed, we couldn't pay with credit card and the pizza itself was very plain and somewhat disappointing.. It was like getting a pizza from our local pizza guy back home and not the French/ Italian delicious kind of pizza we had anticipated. Disappointing.
