Pictured: Pork belly baos, Hamburg Sando, and beef curry. The pork belly baos were incredibly delicious. Pork belly was very tender and flavorful, added cucumber and fukujinzuki are the same they add to the main curry dishes. The Hamburg Sando issurprisingly flavorful. The meat (basic hamburger is smothered in a BBQ type sauce. The bread they use is very soft, almostlike Hawaiian rolls but I'm unsure if that's what it is. The sandos are also pretty small with no side. The beef curry was madewith very tender brisket. Very delicious a lot like the pork belly when compared by tenderness. SO GOOD!! Curry is one of my husband and mines favorite meals, so we were excited to try Umami! He tried the pork ramen, and I did the BYOB with the fried squid, both were excellent!! The meat in his ramen melted in your mouth, and the broth alone had somuch flavor, and my curry was delightfully spicy and every ingredient tasted amazing on their own and together!! Umami Curry is definitely on the top 5 of the best ramen places in Jacksonville! Not to mention the owners and staff are incredibly nice and gracious! They are the first restaurant in Jacksonville to serve Japanese curry and also, in my opinion, the best one! We have been here several times and they are one of the few places that serves consistently delicious dishes. Their braised beef brisket was cooked for 12 hours and you can really taste the depth of the flavors in every bite! Plus paired it with the curry, mind blowing! Only wish we live close by. Hello Fellow Explorers. If you are in Jacksonville Florida and you get the hankering for some fantastic ramen, then umami Curry has got to be on the top of your list to try. This is a tucked away establishment with not a lot of seating. You're going towant to make sure you get there early because it fills up fast. This whole hotspot is definitely a local favorite. I’m blown away! This was such a great experience. I used to have lots of ramen and curry when I lived in Vancouver and this beats it all. The takoyaki actually had chunks of octopus in it!! I’ll be back and bringing friends for sure! I also chatted with who I assume was the owner who was very sweet! He made sure we had a good time and enjoyed our meals. I’m so overjoyed that this isn’t far from where I live! Give this place a try if you haven’t already!
The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service at this restaurant were beyond amazing! Our server was super nice and had a great conversation with us throughout the meal. Both dishes were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Next time we're on thispart of town we'll definitely have to come back and try something else from Umami Curry again! Me and my gf decided that we wanted ramen and we stumbled upon this place. Let me say this place has the best ramen I’ve tried. The broth was exquisite and flavorful. I mean I don’t understand why on this lovely Sunday they would not be busy because the food is phenomenal. I would brush up on the customer service just not feeling a bit rush, but besides that I will be coming back!
My favorite curry place was back in Connecticut, but damn. Firstly, I?ve never tried Japanese curry till Umani but now I?m hooked. This place is my favorite new curry place, I hope more people try this place out. Soup and other food is amazing too,but that beef curry is fire.
