I've went to this place time a few times and each experience has become progressively worse, so much to the point I am writing this review. To start, I get it, it's an ayce place, but the quality of the fish and actual taste of the sushi isn't good at all. The colors are soooo off and the portions of whatever is inside the sushi roll is so unproportionately tiny. The seaweed is always stale and chewy. The ginger is horrible. I've been to other ayce places that have been much better. The iPad idea seems to be effective until things don't come, and the servers don't care. I requested a server come because they took my soy sauce plate, and they never came to me to see what i needed.
Stumbled across this awesome restaurant on our way back from the Hamptons through Google reviews. Reasonably priced and excellent fresh sush, a rarity. The two brothers at the counter were pretty cool, funny, humble, and inviting! The only problem, if you like all you can eat: DO NOT!!! order the volcano roll. It will take up 95% of your stomach space, and then you have to pay the leftover surcharge, lol. The only other drawback was that they wanted to charge us extra for hot tea as it is considered a drink. Come on guys! But, Still worthy of 5 starsKid-friendliness: Kids loved it
If you’ve never had good sushi, you’d probably think this was the best place ever. However, anyone who has ever tasted true, high quality sushi, you’re in for a disappointment. The fish itself tastes old. The rolls are bland and all finished with the same store bought sauce. Also, don’t let the pictures on their iPad fool you… some things look nothing like what’s on the screen.Overall, it’s not the worst place out there. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The food/menu could really use a total revamp though.
This is an all-you-can eat experience so you would expect the sushi to be average at best but this was some of the best sushi I've had on Long Island.You order with a tablet from your table and are served within minutes of sitting down. Amazing food (much more than just sushi), incredibly reasonable cost, shockingly fast service, great atmosphere. I drive 35 minutes out of the way to go here--can't recommend it enough!

This is one of my favorite places to eat on Long Island! The all you can eat sushi is fantastic. The pricing is amazing around $20 a person for all you can eat during lunch and a bit higher for dinner. You order the sushi on a tablet so it is super convenient and fast. The all you can eat includes all sorts of sushi, sashimi, rolls, appetizers, cooked options, and deserts. I highly recommend Umami Sushi!
While many restaurants have seen a decline in quality in recent years, Umami continues to improve. The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious, and the restaurant maintains a clean, modern decor. This is my daughter's favorite place to celebrate her birthday every year. They offer an excellent selection of rolls and hot dishes. I highly recommend it! Food: 5/5
The Umami Roll is an absolute must-try—it's incredibly delicious! You definitely have to sample the dumpling sauce and the yum yum sauce. Food: 5/5.

We did the all you can eat in 1 1/2 hour. I believe it was $32. Per person drinks. Well worth it. There was 7 of us.Food: 5/5
