Umi Japaneese Cuisine

I usually never leave reviews however I am very displeased with the way I was treated this evening when ordering take out from Umi Japanese In Somerdale NJ on Wednesday April 29th, 2020. When calling I ordered some sushi and because my girlfriend doesn?t eat seafood she decided on the Scallop N.Y. Steak combination that costs $23.95 and was planning on giving me the scallops. The combination comes with 2 pieces of shrimp as advertised on the picture directly from the website. Once I stated that I would like the scallop and NY Steak combo I asked if it came with fried rice and then if I could replace the 2 pieces of shrimp with 2 pieces of the EBI shrimp from the Sushi or Shashimi section #7...

The sushi was okay but I?m kind of disappointed that the rolls did not come how they were listed. I ordered a spicy cooked shrimp roll and it didn?t come with anything in it except what looks like fried batter. There were no vegetables and the tiniest pieces of shrimp and it?s definitely not spicy! I also ordered a spicy crabmeat roll and it looks and tastes almost exactly the same as the other roll I listed above. If there?s a next time maybe it will be better

I absolutely love this sushi restaurant! The family who operates it are truly skilled at making sushi. Despite its unassuming exterior, there is some incredible talent in the kitchen. My wife's favorite is the Autumn Roll, while I can't get enough of the Sushi Regular. The Wasabi Shumai is a must-try, as it delivers a burst of flavor in every bite.

Umi is the perfect spot for delicious and fresh sushi. It is a family-owned business that takes pride in their food. My go-to order is the Sushi Regular with Miso Soup, while my wife and daughter enjoy the fall roll or hot girl. The food is all delicious and the staff, including Jill, are very friendly and welcoming.

I stopped here for the first time for my birthday dinner and they were very accommodating, attentive, and personable! The food was amazing, I always love eel when it?s done right and they do it amazing unlike a lot of local places. Drinks were great too! Reasonably priced and not too weak.

Always here for dinner. They are family business with the lovely environment. Recommend Hibachi combination dinner with Shrimp and chicken. Appetizer you have to try Gyoza and beef negimaki. Have to try their tempura ice cream, it?s amazing!

The food at this restaurant is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the service is quick. They offer a variety of sushi and hot dishes. The tempura ice cream was particularly delightful. We plan to return in the future.

We ordered takeout for dinner and found the online ordering process to be simple. The food was prepared and ready for us when we arrived. I ordered California rolls and shrimp fried rice, both of which were delicious.
