You know how, when you go to a restaurant, you're hoping for a dazzling, memorable experience? We've all had a few. Unfortunately, Union Common did not deliver. Our experience was, by no means bad. We ordered on the less-expensive end of the menu for the most part. With what we experience, I'm glad we chose the lower end. For appetizers, we had a cheese plate that was covered 80% with other stuff: bland olives, uninteresting nuts, mustard, and an ok jam. The cheese wedges were pretty skimpy for the price. The breads with them were good. We also ordered the crab hushpuppies that had no visible or otherwise discernible crab in them. They were overcooked in oil that tasted like it needed a chan...
We were a party of 4 with two out of town guests. I had been to the restaurant numerous times and never had a problem. This time two guests ordered the special Sword Fish when it arrived with my steak and one of my guest's scallops, both sword fish orders were uncooked inside. Server was made aware and both meals taken back to the kitchen. The problem was not only that, but it took another (kidding not 20 additional minutes) for the meal to return correctly. Apparently they had to start from scratch. So, two of us finished our meals while the other two waited. It was unfortunate that we were not able to dine together. The Manager on duty was apologetic and did take the two meals off our bill...
This review is for a business lunch with 7 people. I usually love the vibe at Union Common, it’s a beautiful restaurant and I’ve had great experiences and dinner and brunch, however, lunch is a completely different story. I ordered the kale salad $8) with shrimp $8) and for $16 I received a very small bowl of kale with 3 smaller shrimp. Everyone at our business lunch was disappointed with either the portions or the quality. Aside from the salads, there aren’t really any healthy options on the lunch menu. The service was also not great as our server didn’t say more than a couple words the whole time and wasn’t very friendly.
Our party of 7 enjoyed brunch and the food was very good. We especially liked the $3 mimosas! Our service was a little spotty but like every restaurant in Nashville, they are thinly staffed, not their fault but more the robust economy and the need for more workers all over town.

Super disappointed in our cold dinner. If it had been warm, it would have been good. It was an expensive New Year’s Eve for a disappointing dinner. Server was good: kitchen was very behind and confused.
the restaurant has closed (sold) on 1/30/20 and neither the restaurant nor opentable reported me until 2 days before the Valentine's Day, so it is impossible to secure alternative plans. fail!
Fabulous food and service. Loved the deco feel and the music was perfect. Traditional old fashioned cocktail the best I've ever had
the restaurant had constantly closed, but more openly table sent me a reminder and did not inform me that it was closed.
