I am a local Chef, so I take my food VERY seriously and I have to say that I love Emmy’s. My wife and I wandered into Emmy’s a few weeks ago and have been coming back every Monday since. The Nashville Hot is actually spicy AF (not some watered down “spicy” for the meek), which is what you want! My wife is in Love with the chicken salad sandwich. Unfortunately, I ordered the Ribeye Sandwich and now I may never order anything else…fantastic sandwich, perfectly prepared and oh so yummy. If you’re not eating at my café, this is the joint! The place itself is really cute- it's like dining in a house. The 6 of us there thought that was a great concept. Service was excellent. The food was good too. We had steak, mashed potatoes, creamed corn (they called fried corn), macaroni salad, asparagus, green beans, hot chicken on a potato waffle and loaded grilled cheese. Everyone liked their food except me. I thought the chicken was over cooked and too chewy but no other complaints from the table of 6. Prices were fair also.
As you can see from my blank plate... It was FANTASTIC!!! I had the ruined ****. The severity should die. The service was excellent. Sweet tea was perfect. I have no complaint. Other than... I wish I wasn't done. Great food. And the decor is SUPER sweet. I say... Why are you in Shelbyville somewhere else? That's it. For me, if I'm not desperate on sushi or burritos. I'm coming.
